Chapter 16: The night before

275 Words
Lena walked back to her cabin with Luca, her body aching but her mind focused. She knew she had to get some rest, but she was too wired to sleep. As they stood outside her door, Luca turned to her, his eyes serious. "Tomorrow night, just remember to stay calm and trust your instincts," he said. "The pack will be watching you, but they'll also be watching out for you. We're a family, and we take care of each other." Lena nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards him. "I'll be fine," she said. "I just want to make a good impression." Luca's expression softened, and he reached out to brush a strand of hair behind her ear. "You'll do great," he said. "Just be yourself, and the pack will love you." Lena's heart skipped a beat at the touch, and she felt a flutter in her chest. She knew she was falling for Luca, hard. And she wasn't sure if she was ready for the consequences. "Get some rest," Luca said, his voice low. "I'll see you tomorrow night." Lena nodded, watching as he turned and walked away. She felt a sense of anticipation building inside her, and she knew that tomorrow night would be a night she would never forget. As she went inside and closed the door, Lena couldn't help but wonder what the future held for her and Luca. Would she be accepted by the pack? Would she be able to handle the challenges that came with being part of a werewolf pack? And what about her feelings for Luca? Was she ready to take that step? Only time would tell.
