Chapter 17: The full moon rises

270 Words
Lena spent the rest of the day in a haze of anticipation and nerves. She tried to rest, but her mind kept racing with thoughts of the pack, the run, and Luca. As the sun began to set, she got up and started getting ready for the night ahead. She dressed in comfortable clothes, her heart pounding in her chest. She could feel the full moon rising, its power calling to her. She took a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves. As she stepped outside, Luca was waiting for her, his eyes gleaming in the fading light. "Ready?" he asked, his voice low. Lena nodded, feeling a surge of determination. She was ready to face whatever lay ahead. The pack was gathering at the edge of the forest, their faces illuminated by the rising moon. Alpha Rachel stood at the center, her eyes shining with a fierce light. "Tonight, we run," she said, her voice carrying across the forest. "Tonight, we welcome Lena to our pack. Let's show her what it means to be a part of our family." The pack erupted into cheers, and Lena felt a rush of excitement. This was it. This was her chance to prove herself, to show the pack that she belonged. Luca took her hand, his fingers intertwining with hers. "Let's do this," he said, his voice full of enthusiasm. Together, they set off into the forest, the pack running alongside them. The moon rose high in the sky, casting a silver glow over the trees. Lena felt free, wild, and alive. She was part of the pack, and nothing else mattered.
