Chapter 18: The Run Begins

267 Words
The pack ran through the forest, their paws pounding the earth in unison. Lena felt a rush of exhilaration as she kept pace with Luca, the trees blurring together as they flew by. The moonlight cast eerie shadows on the ground, and the sound of the pack's howls echoed through the night air. Lena's senses were heightened, and she could feel the pack's energy coursing through her veins. She was no longer just a human; she was part of the pack, connected to the natural world in a way she never thought possible. As they ran, Luca let out a wild howl, and the pack responded in kind. Lena joined in, her voice blending with the others in a haunting melody. The sound was primal, raw, and beautiful. The pack began to pick up speed, and Lena felt her heart racing with excitement. She was running faster than she ever had before, her feet pounding the earth with a power she didn't know she possessed. Suddenly, Luca veered off the path, and the pack followed. Lena went with them, her heart pounding in her chest. They were running through a narrow ravine, the trees closing in around them. As they emerged from the ravine, Lena saw a clearing up ahead. The pack was heading straight for it, and she could see a massive tree standing tall in the center. The moon was directly overhead, casting a silver glow over the clearing. What happened next would change everything. Would Lena be able to keep up with the pack, or would she falter? The outcome was far from certain.
