Chapter 4: The shadow's

315 Words
Lena's heart skipped a beat as she froze, her flashlight beam dancing across the darkness. The rustling grew louder, and she could sense something moving through the underbrush. Her hand instinctively went to her radio, but she hesitated, unsure if she should call for backup. As she stood there, a figure emerged from the shadows. It was Luca, back in his human form, his eyes gleaming in the moonlight. He was shirtless, his chest heaving with exertion, and his eyes seemed to burn with an inner fire. Lena felt a rush of relief mixed with a healthy dose of fear. She took a step back, her eyes fixed on Luca's intense gaze. "Luca, what's going on?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady. Luca's eyes seemed to bore into her soul, and for a moment, Lena thought she saw a glimmer of the beast still lurking beneath the surface. But then, his expression softened, and he took a step closer, his movements fluid and controlled. "I lost control," he said, his voice low and rough. "I didn't mean to scare you." Lena's heart was still racing, but she felt a pang of sympathy for the man standing before her. She could see the struggle in his eyes, the battle to maintain control over the beast within. "What's happening to you?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Luca's eyes seemed to cloud over, and he looked away, his jaw clenched. "I'll tell you everything," he said. "But you need to know the truth about what I am, and what the full moon means for me." Lena's curiosity was piqued. She took a step closer, her heart pounding in her chest. "Tell me," she said, her voice firm. Luca's eyes locked onto hers, and she saw a glimmer of determination there. "Let's get out of here," he said. "And I'll show you the truth."
