Lena nodded, her heart still racing with anticipation. She followed Luca back to the ranger station, the silence between them thick with unspoken questions. As they stepped inside, Luca closed the door behind them, and Lena felt a sense of safety wash over her.
Luca gestured for her to sit, and Lena took a seat, her eyes never leaving his face. He began to pace back and forth, his movements agitated.
"I'm a werewolf," he said, his voice low and rough. "I've been one for a long time. It's a curse, a blessing, a prison. I've learned to control it, most of the time. But the full moon... it's hard to resist its call."
Lena's mind was reeling. She had suspected something supernatural, but to hear it confirmed was still a shock. She looked at Luca, really looked at him, and saw the truth in his eyes.
"Why are you telling me this?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Luca stopped pacing and turned to face her. "Because I need you to know the truth," he said. "I need you to understand what I'm capable of. And I need to know if you can accept me for what I am."
Lena's heart was pounding in her chest. She looked at Luca, at the vulnerability in his eyes, and she knew she had a choice to make. Could she accept him, beast and all? Or would she let fear dictate her actions?
"What does this mean for us?" she asked, her voice firm.
Luca's eyes locked onto hers, and she saw a glimmer of hope there. "It means we'll have to be careful," he said. "It means I'll have to learn to trust you. But if you're willing to take the risk... I want to explore this thing between us."
Lena's heart skipped a beat. She took a deep breath, and let her instincts guide her. "I'm willing," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
