As the sun began to set, casting a warm orange glow over the forest, Lena made her way to the old oak tree. She had been thinking about Luca's note all day, wondering what his alpha wanted and what it meant for their relationship.
As she approached the tree, she saw Luca standing there, his back to her. He was gazing out at the forest, his eyes lost in thought. Lena's heart skipped a beat as she took in the sight of him, his broad shoulders and strong back a testament to his werewolf strength.
"Hey," she said softly, not wanting to startle him.
Luca turned, a warm smile spreading across his face. "Hey beautiful," he said, opening his arms to her.
Lena walked into his arms, feeling a sense of comfort and security wash over her. "So, what's going on?" she asked, looking up at him.
Luca's expression turned serious, and he hesitated for a moment before speaking. "My alpha wants to meet you," he said. "She's curious about the human who's been spending so much time with me."
Lena's heart skipped a beat. Meeting the alpha? That sounded serious. "What does she want to know?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Luca's eyes locked onto hers, and she saw a glimmer of concern there. "She wants to know if you're a threat," he said. "And I have to convince her that you're not."
