Dinner was over, and Josh still hadn’t proposed, even after the surprise announcement of Lucy’s pregnancy. I was getting concerned. I think Cameron was too. So, when Josh left for the bathroom, I had to follow. I needed to make sure he was alright. Eilith saw him as a brother, so by right he would be my brother-in-law. He was an usher at my wedding. I can’t just ignore him. I need to make sure he is okay. I excused myself from the table, kissing Eilith on the lips, and my son on the head, before heading to the bathroom to find Josh.
