Chapter 24
Alicia called Dr. King on her way over to the pediatric unit and told him the good news. The doctor was ecstatic and promised to get Willow in the program right away. Alicia also left a voicemail for Carla about it.
“Hi, Willow.” Alicia entered Willow’s cubicle in the pediatric ward and stood next to her bed. The room was painted a soft pink color with cartoon characters and superheroes on different sections of the walls.
“Aunt Alicia!” Willow’s grey eyes twinkled as she lifted her thin arms for a hug. She was dressed in a hospital gown; her short blond hair peeked out from a pink beanie hat decorated with petite bows and sparkling crystals.
“I see a new bow,” she said, touching the purple and white polka dot mini bow. “It seems you have a new admirer,” she teased Willow.
