Episode 1: The Little Red Balloon
The Little Red Balloon *Chapter One: The Adventure Begins Lila the little rabbit loved balloons more than carrot cake. She loved blue balloons, yellow balloons, green balloons, and purple balloons. But her very favorite of all was a tiny shining red balloon that bounced beside her like a happy friend. One breezy, sunny morning, Lila woke up with a big smile.“Today is not an ordinary day,” she whispered to her red balloon. “Today we are going on a real adventure!”The red balloon twirled in the air as if it understood. Lila hopped along the forest path. The tall green trees waved their leaves above her. “Green!” she laughed. “Let’s count them. One, two, three!”The balloon bobbed up and down, helping her count.Bright yellow flowers smiled up at her from the ground.“Yellow! One, two, three, four, five!” she cheered. Then Lila heard it.A small, sad sniffle.Behind a bush sat Benny, the little bear cub. His ears drooped and his eyes were shiny with tears. Lila knelt beside him.“Benny, what’s wrong?” “I… I lost my favorite blue ball,” Benny said softly. “I’ve looked everywhere.”Lila squeezed his paw. “Don’t worry. No adventure is too big when friends help.” They searched under purple violets. “Purple!” Lila counted. “One, two!” They looked behind orange mushrooms and under red apples. Then Lila gasped. “Benny! Look!” Something round and blue peeked from under a leaf. “My ball!” Benny shouted, his face lighting up like sunshine. “You found it!” Lila’s heart felt warm. “That’s what friends do — we help each other.” They played together in the soft green grass. The red balloon floated happily above them as they rolled the blue ball, chased rainbow butterflies, and counted colorful flowers. Benny pointed to the sky. “Lila, look — colors are everywhere!” “Yes,” Lila said. “And the brightest color is friendship.” The little red balloon gave a tiny pop of wind, almost like a laugh, and bounced along beside them, ready for the next adventure.
