Chapter 3.

[Freyas POV]

I heard my alarm go off to wake us up from our nap, I didn't want to get up yet. this bed is soo comfy, I rolled over and turned off the alarm and heard Ashleigh groan.

I got up and went to the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth, when I went back out to the room Ashleigh was up she walked past me and went to the bathroom. It was 2:30 so I figured we could go to the pool for a couple of hours before we had to get ready for the barbecue later.

I sent a text to Emma to see if she wanted to come to the pool with us and she replied instantly with a thumbs up, Ashleigh came out of the bathroom looking more awake.

"Feeling better?" I asked her.

"so much better I needed that" she replied.

"Yeah me too, the drive here really wore me out. anyway get ready we're going to the pool"

Ashleigh clapped her hands and ran to the wardrobe to grab a bikini, I grabbed one out of one of the drawers. just a plain black two piece and went in the bathroom to change, I put some shorts and a crop top on and left the bathroom to grab a towel and my flip flops and Ashleigh was already waiting for me. I laughed at her excitement, we made our way downstairs and out the back to the pool where Emma was already waiting for us.

We all went in the pool for a swim and then just sat around on the sunbeds talking.

"Hey ladies mind if I join you?" I turned around to see Scott.

"Hey Scott!" I jumped up to give him a hug.

"Hey Freya! it's been so long, how have you been?" he asked me.

"Yeah really good, you?"

"oh perfect here with my perfect mate" he winked at Emma and she rolled her eyes but I could see a blush creep up on her face, and then I felt that little pang of jealousy again.

"This is Ashleigh my bestfriend" I said introducing him to her.

"Hi Ashleigh, I'm Scott nice to meet you" he said and shook her hand.

"nice to meet you too" she replied.

Scott put some chill music on and we all just sat enjoying the sun, listening to music and talking, we went back in the pool a couple more times. it was so nice just relaxing and having fun with friends, I checked the time and it was 4:30pm.

"Right Ash come on we should go back up to the room and get ready"

we waved to Scott and Emma, as we were walking back inside some of the kitchen Omegas were starting to bring stuff outside to set up for later.

"Oh Ash, one sec I just want to go to the kitchen quick" she followed behind me, I saw Mr and Mrs Grey making more food for later. And then I saw my nan.

"Nan!" I walked over to her and gave her a quick hug.

"hunny you're all wet"

"oops sorry nan" I laughed.

"I just wanted to ask quick.. are you making potato salad for the barbecue" I asked with a big cheesy smile.

"of course I am, I couldn't not make your favourite now could I? I have made lots just incase"

"Yes!! nan I love you so much!" I gave her another hug and kissed her all over face while she was laughing and trying to push me off her cause I was still wet from the pool.

I finally let her go and me and Ashleigh went upstairs to get ready.

"Do you want to shower first?" I asked.

"I'll go first cause I know you take literally forever to shower" she said laughing.

I took my wet clothes and bikini off and put them in the washing basket and wrapped a towel around myself so I could sit on the bed, I made sure to lock the bedroom door so no one could just come barging in.

I sat on the bed just scrolling through my phone, Ashleigh had sent me some photos she took while we were at the pool. As I was looking through them I saw one that she took of me and it was such a good candid photo, I was sat at the edge of the pool with me feet in the water, looking away from the camera with my hair blowing in the breeze. I decided to post it to my Insta and captioned it 'living my best life' added a few hashtags and hit post. I put my phone down and Ashleigh walked out the bathroom.

"all yours, your highness" she said bowing and laughing.

"Don't take like an hour though cause we haven't got that much time"

"yeah yeah I know, I'll try and be quick" I said.

I jumped in the shower and washed my hair and body and exfoliated as fast as I could, I got out and wrapped a towel around my hair and quickly put some moisturiser on and wrapped a towel around my body and walked out the bathroom.

Ashleigh was just finishing blow drying her hair, she looked at me and said.

"wow I think that's a new record for you for how fast that shower was!" I just shook my head and started laughing.

I looked at the time and it was 5:15 so I decided to take my time getting ready.

"are you going to wear anyway make-up?" Ashleigh asked me.

"Maybe a bit of mascara. it's only a casual barbecue, nothing fancy"

She nodded, I was drying my hair trying to decide how I should style it.

Ashleigh was straightening hers, I decided to do some loose curls.

"right well what are you going to wear?" she asked.

"I actually have no idea, but again nothing fancy just casual" she nodded again.

"hmm how about this for me?" she held up a baby blue romper with little white daisy over it.

"oh yes definitely, that is so cute! and you could wear it with your white converse" she went and got changed while I was still deciding on what to wear, then I heard a noise from down the hall.. it was Sam, I would know his voice anywhere.

"Samuel! you better be quick, you haven't got a lot of time! You better not be late!" I heard Luna Amanda shout at him.

"Yes mum I know!" he replied.

I could hear him and Dean talking and then they parted ways and there was a knock at the door.

I opened it and Dean was stood there with a big cheesy smile on his face and he gave me a bear hug.

"Ow Dean put me down" I said slapping him on the back.

"Sorry I just missed you so much cuz"

"yeah I know, I'm amazing and your favourite cousin. Now get going before Luna Amanda comes up and scolds you for not being ready" I said while pushing him out.

He stopped and was sniffing the air

"what is that smell?" he asked.

"me, I smell amazing always now go" I slammed the door and could hear him laughing as he walked away.

Just then Ashleigh came out the bathroom and was dressed and ready to go.

"Girl you're not ready yet?" she asked.

"no sorry, Dean came by and wouldn't shut up" I laughed.

I looked at her and she was sniffing the air too.

Damn maybe I smell that good, I went over to my clothes and just picked out a baby pink halter crop top, some denim shorts and my baby pink converse. I went and got dressed, when I came out Ashleigh was wolf whistling and giving me thumbs up, I just laughed at her antics. we linked arms and walked downstairs and out to the back garden, everything was set up with tables and chairs everywhere. Some pack members were already here, everyone said hello to us.

Luna Amanda came over to us.

"finally the guests of honour have arrived" she said clapping her hands.

"Joseph will be giving a speech later to welcome you both, until then just eat, drink, mingle and have fun" she said while walking and waving at us.

Me and Ashleigh went over to get a drink, we were chatting away when all of a sudden Ashleigh was lifted off her feet and being spun around.

"Aaahhh!" Ashleigh screamed.

"Dean put her down!" I shouted.

he stopped spinning her around and looked at me and I heard a low grow rumble from his chest.

"Hey don't growl at me" I said punching him in the arm.

"Well don't tell me what to do with my mate cuz" he said.

"Oooohhhh...." that why they were sniffing around before, they could smell eachother.

"I'll leave you two to get to know eachother then" I said winking at Ashleigh who was just staring at Dean.

I walked around chatting with pack members, everyone was very nice.

every now and then I caught one girl staring daggers at me, I have no idea why.

But I just ignored her and kept walking around taking everything in and then a scent hit me like a ton of bricks.. It was like vanilla and raspberries and it was making my mouth water, I followed the smell and I stopped dead in my tracks. Frozen.

There he was.. "MATE, MATE, MATE!" Star was screaming in my mind jumping up and down.

He turned around.. Sam. Sam IS my mate. He stood Frozen staring at me too, he was taking big deep breaths like he was trying to calm himself down, oh no. Was he disappointed that I am his mate? Is he angry? He started walking towards me I tried to back away but he grabbed my arm and tingles shot all through my body.

"come with me" he said in his deep silky voice, he started leading me away from everyone.. this was it. He was going to reject me, I tried to stay strong but a tear slipped down my face.

This was going to suck.
