Chapter 10.

[Sams POV].

After we had got changed we went back downstairs to rejoin the party, pack members came over to congratulate us.

Alpha Richard from Winter Moon came to congratulate us.

"Freya this is Alpha Richard from the Winter Moon Pack" I introduced Freya to him.

"It's lovely to meet you Alpha Richard" she said and shook his hand.

"this is my son Ryan" he introduced us to him.

I hadn't met him yet, Richard had told me that he was waiting for Ryan to meet his mate before making him the Alpha of their pack.

"It's nice to meet you both" Ryan bowed, he stared and Freya a bit too long and I didn't like it.. And neither did Bullet.

"Ryan gave me a weird vibe" Freya said after they had walked away.

"What do you mean?"

"I don't know.. Just something about him felt.. Off" she shrugged.

"Come on let's go see my family" she said and grabbed my hand.

"Hey guys!" she said as we reached their table.

"Oh my darlings, what a lovely evening. You both looked amazing" Freyas mum Maria said.

"And I'm so happy you're both coming back to Gold Moon with us tomorrow" she smiled and hugged us both, We had agreed to go back with them so we could pick up Freyas and Ashleighs things. And we were going to stay there for a couple of days, my dad didn't mind being in charge again. And I was looking forward to a couple of days of not being the Alpha.

"Oh Sam this is Alpha James and Luna Zoe" Freya introduced me to them.

Alpha James shook my hand and I gave Zoe a little bow.

"It's nice to finally meet you Alpha Sam" James said.

"Likewise, Freya has told me a lot about you both. She thinks very highly of you both"

James and Zoe smiled.

"Well we think very highly of her too, she's an amazing young woman" James said.

I put my arm around Freya.

"Yes she definitely is" I agreed and winked at her.

"Son can I speak to you in private for a minute?" my dad asked.

"Yeah of course" I turned to Freya "will you be alright?"

"Yes of course, go" She waved me away, I gave her a quick kiss on the cheek.

We got to my dad's office and he shut the door.

"What's up dad?"

"Sam have you ever heard of an Apex Wolf?" He asked

"Apex? Like Apex predator?" I replied.

"Yes well... I believe Freya is an Apex Wolf"

"Aren't all werewolves Apex predators?"

"Well yes but an Apex Wolf is... Different"

"Dad what are you trying to say?"

"There isn't much information about them but here, read this" He handed me a very very old book.

'The Apex Wolf.

a werewolf that was turned from the bite of a Dire Wolf.

They are the most dominant and poweful werewolves to exist, they have enough power to make even an Alpha submit to them.

Their fur is as white as snow and eyes that glow gold'

I finished reading it.

"I don't understand though? Dad, Freya was born a werewolf, she wasn't turned. And didn't Dire wolves go extinct like thirteen thousand years ago?"

"Yes well she is clearly the direct descendant of an Apex Wolf, the last one recorded was about five hundred years ago"

"Wait so you're saying that Freya is a really powerful Wolf?"

"Sam, she is the MOST powerful wolf"

My mate is the most powerful wolf, damn she really is special.

"You are going to have to tell her about this you know?" my dad said.

"Yeah I know, I'll tell her tomorrow. Let's go back and enjoy the rest of the party"

[Freyas POV].

I was having the best night of my life surrounded by my friends and family, I saw Ashleigh walking over to our table. I felt like I hadn't seen her all day.

"Ash!" I jumped up and hugged her.

"Oh sorry" I backed up "Beta Ashleigh" I said and bowed. She laughed and bowed back.

"Luna Freya" we laughed together.

"b***h you're a Luna!" She said.

"b***h you're a Beta!" I replied and laughed again.

"Oh jeez I am a Beta" she laughed.

We sat at the table and we all talked and laughed, then I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to see Ryan.

"Luna Freya, would you like to dance?" I wanted to say no but I didn't want to be rude.

It was a slow song, so he put one hand on my back and the other on my shoulder. I didn't really know where to put my hands so I just put them both on his shoulders, I felt so stiff and uncomfortable. I didn't know what it was about him that made me feel so uneasy.

"So what pack are you originally from Luna?" he asked.

"Gold Moon"

"Oh out West by the border of Wales"

"Yeah, you know it"

"Of course, I have tried to study most of the packs in the United Kingdom"

I really wasn't that interested in what he had to say I just wanted someone to save me or for the song to finish, my prayers were answered when Alpha James asked to steal me from him.

"Oh Goddess James thank you" I whispered.

"I could see how uncomfortable you were from across the room" He said

"Who is he?"

"The son of the Alpha from Winter Moon"

"Ah Winter Moon, they are a smaller pack around here" he said.

We finished dancing and went back to the table and Sam finally rejoined us.

"Everything OK?" I asked him.

"Perfect my love, I'll tell you about it tomorrow" he said and gave me a kiss.

"come with me" he grabbed my hand and walked me to the middle of the dance floor, everyone else went and either sat down or stood around. Sam left me there and went to grab a microphone, oh Goddess what is he doing?

"Good evening everyone, I wanted to thank you all for being here to celebrate my Luna" everyone clapped.

"My Luna, My mate.. My Freya. I dedicate this song to you" he winked at me, he gave the microphone back to the DJ and walked towards me and then Ordinary by Alex Warren started playing. I smiled with tears in my eyes, this is the most romantic song in the world. All the women aawwed, We danced while everyone watched. But I felt like we were the only people in the room, I loved this man with my whole heart.

And I only just realised I hadn't said it out loud to him yet.

"Sam?"

"Hmm?"

"I love you"

"What?" he said, I wasn't looking at his face but I could hear that he was smiling.

"I said I love you"

"You have no idea how long I've waited to hear those words come out of your mouth.. I love you too Freya, I love you so much"

It made my heart flutter hearing him tell me he loved me.

"I love you more"

"Now now baby girl that is a war you do not want to start with me, because I will win. I love you more" he said and I giggled.

I sighed thinking about how happy I am, my life had changed so much in such a short time. Two weeks ago I was scared thinking that Sam would reject me if I were his mate, I definitely felt stupid about that now and I felt guilty for thinking that too. Sam had told me that it hurt him that I thought that way about him, I obviously made it up to him.

I sighed again and nuzzled my nose into Sams chest and breathed in his beautiful vanilla and raspberries scent.

[Ryan's POV].

That f*****g piece of s**t Sam, I hated him so much.

Thinking he was better than everyone else because he was given his Alpha title at 18 and had a powerful pack, and then come to this ceremony tonight to find out his Luna is a f*****g Apex Wolf! She was stunning too, he did not deserve her.

I would have her, I needed to have her as MY Luna. And no one will stop me from getting what I want.
