Chapter 4

The crowd was going wild at the fight happening in the ring before them. Small explosions were heard and two forms were battling it out in the ring. 's**t! He's a tough guy! But I think I know what to do.’ Ethan’s adversary thought, concentrating his power. He focused his power to channel Mana on the space where he and Ethan were standing. When he slapped his hand onto the ground, the floor beneath them started to crumble more quickly than before. The fell into the manmade hole and Ethan didn’t had enough time to react. As if that wasn’t enough, the man had sprinted towards him and grabbed his wrist in a tight hold. Ethan had made the decision earlier today to return to the underground ring that in order to make more money. He had spent the daytime watching TV and study before coming. Once again, his uncle had asked where he was headed to and Ethan said nothing – leaving though the door and leaving his worried uncle behind. And now here he was, fighting an Enhanced with the powers to control the earth and boy was it a difficult battle. "You piece of s**t!" Ethan hissed in pain as he stood up. He had no idea how much below earth he was, but he did know one thing. He wasn't going to let this man undo all his hard work. Ethan was just concerned with removing this man's arm from his wrist, regardless of how much Mana it would require. His hand was still firmly gripping Ethan's wrist, demonstrating that despite having a Boulder Class talent, he had a strong physique. He found it difficult to see anything because of the dense dust and particles in the air, but he thought his opponent had similar vision problems. He became to slice erratically, getting his opponent and spilling more blood. He didn't even care if his opponent made it through the assault at this point. The audience could hear a man screaming in anguish, but they were unable to see anything, making it impossible to identify the speaker. Eventually, with persistence, his opponent fell consciousness, but it took Ethan longer and more Mana to prevail. He was very far underground at the same time, so it took a while to climb out of the hole. After some time, the victor was revealed and received an additional $10,000. Ethan was winning quite a few fans by the time of this, his second match of the evening. Since they didn't know many other people with abilities like his, many were intrigued by them. They were also more interested in Ethan because everyone in the world with a mystery class talent comes from a wealthy family and doesn't typically engage in underground combat. Since Ethan already had over 40,000, all it would need one more game to accomplish his objective. ‘I'm unsure of how much Mana I still possess.’ Ethan thought. Only 1000 Mana Points are left for the Host. Ethan had developed the practice of replacing other combatants ever since yesterday night. Ethan had not been punished despite the fact that the victim of his attack from yesterday had reported him. He had put on a much greater performance than the Bruiser ever could, which is why. Since there was so much money left over after both of Ethan's battles, they chose to pay Bruiser the amount he would have earned from them rather than dealing with Ethan. They even went so far as to let him defend rival competitors since that was what he wanted to do. After all was said and done, only the agreed-upon amount would be paid to him, and the remaining funds would be split amongst the club's patrons and proprietors. Therefore, nobody else really objected to what Ethan was doing. Ethan had made the decision to engage in one more fight that night. He truly wouldn't have anything to worry about as long as he was careful. A team of paramedics would enter the ring following each battle to remove the bodies of combatants who had been knocked out or suffered serious injuries. His opponent had been pulled from the hole and transported elsewhere for medical attention. Then there were those whose job it was to fix the arena with their special skills. When all was said and done, the announcer came into the ring. The announcer announced, "Next, we have our undefeated champion, who will be facing the Viper!" "The Viper, you say? Check out their capabilities.'" Ethan said to Alex, who did as so. The moment the name was announced, the audience erupted in raucous applause. It seems that the Viper was a well-liked rival. A man with curly blonde hair entered the ring shortly after Ethan, who was already there. "Judging by his moniker, I believe he possesses a serpent class talent. Perhaps it won't be as simple as I had imagined." The referee signaled the beginning of the match after The Viper entered the ring. Ethan charged immediately after him. How long his Mana would endure was unknown to him. He also had a poor rate of Mana regeneration. His opponent's pupils shrank and his eyes started to glow green. A bright green liquid started gathering above his palm and he threw the ball at Ethan – who dodged it. A sizzling sound could be heard as the object contacted the earth, and the rock started to melt away. This was the Viper's aptitude. “Acid?" Ethan's body went stiff. "I just fought two guys who can breathe fire and shatter Earth, now I have to deal with this?!" He couldn't help but feel sorry for himself. There was no room for uncertainty because it would result in mistakes, despite the fact that he remembered why he was doing all of this in the first place. And mistakes can result in his sister’s demise. He hissed to himself, "I just need to avoid the poison and then strike hard before my Mana runs out!" He was able to dodge the majority of the acid assaults because to his swift pace. But occasionally, a few drops would fall across his fur. The strong acid soon burned away at his skin and fur. Ethan occasionally questioned his ability to endure the agony because the process was so unpleasant. “f**k!” He screamed as a large helping of acid landed on his thigh, causing him to drop to his knees in pain. Ethen rolled out from the way of another attack, his skin already healing. With a loud snarl, he leaped at his opponent.
