Shantell's birth was truly a miracle, for it had been decades without the birth of a child and decades more without the birth of a female. Why, you ask? I'll tell you. See in the year 2020, all the governments around the world got together and tried to exterminate the wolves that had all but taken over. In order to do this, the government poisoned what they figured was the main supply of drinking water for the wolves. It was supposed to make them sick. So sick that they could not even think about eating and/or fighting. This was done so that when they came to take them out, it would be as easy as 1,2,3. But what they actually ended up doing poising their own people. As a result people became sick and many died quickly. Many more suffered for many years if many illness. One of which was infertility for men and women. First boy and girl births began to slow until female births just stopped. Later the male births stopped as well. It stayed that way for many years. When Shantell's birth mother found out that she was with child, the whole world became obsessed with her birth. When it became known that her parents weren't able to keep her, a very special couple let it be known that they would take her.
