Prologue
The sounds of a newborn baby are heard throughout the kingdom. On a cold December night, the snow hadn’t quite fallen yet but winter was coming.
What should have been a joyous day for the kingdom, slowly turned unpleasant.
King Orricks POV
“She has your light brown hair, and beautiful bright green eyes”.
He leaned his head down towards hers and whispered to her, “You will do great things one day little princess”.
He kissed her on the forehead and handed her to iris wrapped up in a pink baby blanket.
Iris stared at her daughter lovingly.
“ Little princess, you’re so beautiful. I can’t wait to see the woman you become one day”.
She began to cradle the new baby girl to her chest watching the baby fall asleep holding her mother’s finger.
Orrick looked at his precious family feeling a sense of pride. “What shall we name our little princess?”
He stroked his beard deep in thought.
“ I’ve got an idea, Her name will be Helga!”
Queen Iris just glared at him as if saying “you really couldn't have picked a better name then that.”
King Orrick looked content with the name he had come up with.
“What? You know Helga was a strong warrior in the wars, I couldn’t think of a more fitting name.”
Queen Iris looked out of the window into the night and saw a huge star shining bright in the cold December’s sky.
Something called to her about that star. She looked down at her sweet new bundle of joy and smiled.
“Her name will be Star.”
She smiled down at her daughter feeling delighted.
“Star.” he said to himself.
“Such a beautiful name for our princess. How about you get some rest my love and I’ll lay star down in her crib, I have some papers to go over reguarding the attacks on the kingdom.”
Queen Iris- that sounds nice dear, thank you.
Before she handed her to Orrick she kissed her daughter on her head and wished her goodnight.
Orrick picked up Star slowly moving towards her crib, he laid her down carefully, lightly caressing her hair.
Iris soon drifted off to sleep from the exhaustion of the birth.
“ Goodnight little one, sleep well.” He said to Star.
As he began to walk away from the crib, King Orrick received a mind link from one of his top warriors.
“King, there are rogues attacking the kingdom from every direction there's at least 200 of them!”
Orrick felt panicked in that moment.
“Send out every available warrior, I will be out there soon! Make sure to send four extra warriors to guard iris and the baby!”
He took one last look towards the crib that held his little girl.
He felt the strong urge to protect his family. Quickly running out of the castle and heading towards the rouges, ready to take out the threats.
UNKNOWN POV
I stood on the roof of the castle, just below me was the queen's room.
I waited patiently for the rogues to attack the kingdom knowing it wouldn’t be long now.
King Orrick would have to help with the amount of rouges there were. Honestly it was the perfect distraction.
I only had an hour left before the witches spray wore off so I had to be quick. The spray she gave me was said to hide my scent and leave it untraceable.
Lucky for me they left the bedroom window open so once I heard the loud growl of the King below and fighting erupt everywhere around the kingdom I started to head down the roof.
I jumped through the window landing quietly on the ground.
The room was dark but I could still see from the moonlight illuminating the room.
I quietly walked to the crib and picked up the baby, she was fast asleep wrapped in a pink blanket. I had to be quick before the guards got here to watch this room.
I sprayed the baby with the witches spray, so no one could trace her scent as well.
I knew I had to be quick and get out of the window but I wasn't such an evil guy, I didn't wanna hurt the baby so I used the sling I had brought to hold the baby in.
The baby began to cry so before the queen woke up I ran towards the window and jumped out on the ledge and made my way to the side of the castle.
I felt the wind whipping around us, it sounded as if it was howling.
I jumped towards the huge tree that stood beside the castle. It was perfect to get down without hurting the child. It had huge branches for me to jump from making it easier to decend to the ground.
I made my way to the ground and ran as fast as I could towards the kingdoms borders.
The mother witch told me to wait there and a portal would appear. She said it would bring me to the Blazing moon pack border.
I could hear fighting all around me so I knew I had to be quick.
Out of the corner of my eye I saw a wolf, one of the king's warriors, the warrior lifted his nose to the sky sniffing.
Luckily he didnt notice me, due to the spray. I took the opportunity to continue forward.
I saw the portal right in front of me. I ran even faster holding the baby tight so she wouldn’t bounce.
We made our way through the portal, I felt nauseated going through, I stumbled out but I caught myself.
There before me was the border of the blazing moon pack.
Coming out from the shadows was that arrogant alpha wade. He had a sinister smile on his face.
Seeing his face made me regret my decision to give him the baby, but I knew I had to because this was a part of my job.
I started walking towards the alpha and handed him the baby carefull not to drop her.
“It’s always a pleasure doing business with such a famous man like yourself.” Alpha Wade smirked looking at me.
I just grunted in response to the alpha.
“Tell the witch I’ll be in contact.”
With that Alpha Wade began to descend back into the shadows.
I started to walk away but before I did I looked back at the baby.
I don't know why but I felt bad for once in my life handing that baby over to Alpha Wade.
I vowed to myself after giving up that baby that I was done with this life of mine. There was no turning back now, I knew I couldn't fix what I did.
Maybe I could I thought but I was a coward. I whispered “I’m sorry” before I turned and took off into the cold night.
