Chapter 11

Jake Sat in his chambers pondering if he was gonna call Emily or someone else. Emily sang his favorite tune the best but he didn't have time for her emotions. She was a headache, nagging, and aggravating as all hell when she didn't get her way. Thinking of Emily caused his thoughts to shift back to Samantha Soaks. 'I don't know what is it about that girl She's different. I yell at her sometimes she claps back but then she goes back silent again. She doesn't get excited when I give her gifts like she used to, She's so strange as if someone else has stolen her heart' he grew angry at the thought. 'How dare she betray me ? I'll show her who's Boss, she has another thing coming if she thinks she can just toss me away like yesterday's trash' He picks up the phone to call her because Wolves can only mindlink within their pack.

"Hi Jake how are you" She answered wondering why on earth was he calling her

"Baby I miss you" he said tryna get a feel on her energy but also meaning every word

"really ?" Sam responded uninterested

"Why you acting like that ? I havn't received my invite yet for our monthly visit

"Jake I am not responsible for arranging the visit or sending the email, why didn't you call my dad to inquire" She said trying to control her annoyance

"I just wanted to talk to you, i miss hearing your voice I Love you baby" He said hoping to woo her

"Jake I have to go, I have something to do I'll talk to you later have a blessed day" She said hanging up the phone

Jake sat there feeling hurt wondering why Sam didn't love him anymore. He didn't feel a man around her so that couldn't be it.

He pulled out his phone again scrolling through his contact list. He thought about calling Emily but instead scrolled pass her name and called someone else

"Hey girl" he spoke with his deep voice

"Jake Hheeyyy I miss you baby" she swooned

"that's exactly why I was calling I want to see you beautiful" he charmed

"Say nomore Baby I'm on my way" she hung up to prepare herself to go see Alpha Jake thinking he was finally loving her the way she wanted him to, He was choosing her over that stupid Samantha Soaks. 'maybe if he realizes he loves me I can finally end that stupid arrangment she thought to herself, he doesn't love her it's just an arrangement' she skipped off to the bathroom thinking happy thoughts of the night she's about to spend with Jake.

Jake thought to himself " yeah I'm the man" look how excited she is that it's her turn he laughed thinking to himself how stupid women are. He sat waiting and lit his cigar.

Alpha Joseph sat in his chambers thinking on his wife, his sons, and the future of their pack. He grabbed her picture from his nightstand beside his bed, running his fingers along it. ' I miss you my wife, I wish you could see how much our boys have grown.'

Alpha Joseph's wife had died giving birth to Julian. He never even got to meet her. Joseph believed that if she was still here Jake wouldn't be so arrogant, he would know how to treat a women. ' I dont get it though Jake has memories with his mom yet Julian is much sweeter and humble. He thought to himself. 'I'm hoping Samantha soaks can bring out his loving side but it seems him not being able to comprehend his feelings for her brings out his worst. '

He sat silently praying to God that his eldest son would experience love that would melt that ice box he calls a heart.

Sarah had left Julian's chambers and he was left staring at the ceiling in his thoughts. He was annoyed with himself as thoughts drifted back to Joy again. He tried not to think about her but he just couldn't help himself, He felt guilty, he had officially made Sarah his girl and he loved her surprise but somehow Joy always crept back into his mind.

He prayed "Lord I don't know what's this hold Joy has on me. Why can't I shake her ? I want to tell her that I love her but I don't know how, she might think I'm crazy. Then I have Sarah I like her, she takes my mind off of Joy but she doesn't. What am I suppose to do ? I don't want to be like my brother Jake and speaking of Jake, Help him to realize how special and beautiful Samantha is. Help him to be a good, faithful husband to her. Change his heart, help him to experience love in a way that will melt that icy heart. Amen"

He finished praying and drifted off to sleep

He was standing in a hallway next to Joy by a set of stairs. Suddenly the scene changed and they were walking through this garden. They walked and talked laughing like the old times before Joy started pulling away from him. They came to this building with a revolving door. He told her he had to go and stepped into the revolving door still holding her hand. Joy cried "wait don't leave me" he felt sad but he went into the doors as she pulled her hand back quickly. He woke up rubbed his face feeling a pain in his heart he couldn't explain, then he went back to sleep. He woke up in this house with Joy, She looked confused at first but melted back into his embrace. They started talking about their wolves. He was excited to be getting his wolf soon, So was Joy. she started telling him about Lisa's first shift and it scared him a little. He wasn't around when Jake shifted. She told him about the pageant and how she Lisa registered her without her permission. He laughed "Joy what are you so afraid of ? " he asked her "Do you know how amazing you are ? you're beautiful, talented, smart it's a sure win you've got to love yourself Joy. Believe in yourself, see just how amazing you truly are. Don't worry about what anyone else thinks about you, Be yourself, Be who God created you to be with no apologies.

Joy just smiled shyly tucking that strand of hair behind her ear. He smiled you're so beautiful he kissed her and hugged her.

He woke up thinking to himself this is crazy I need to go to the library. He gets up brushes his teeth, washes his face and heads to the library to find a book on dreams cause it just felt too real.

Jake gives the she wolf a crisp $100 here beautiful go get your nails done or something. She gushes feeling like she won the lottery. He told her to let herself out as he went to shower. while sitting on the toilet he thought of Sam. So he texted her

"Hello my beautiful flower how are you"

No response

He decided to give her some time 'maybe she was still sleeping cause she isn't ignoring me I'm Alpha Jake'

The nerve of him to be laid up with another shewolf but trying to control Sam but he didn't care he felt she was lucky to have his attention and "affection" little did he know Sam did not agree. What he felt was an honor Sam believed was a plague. She was miserable being betrothed to him. He put some music on and got in the shower to wash away all the juices of the encounter from the shewolf who'd just left dancing and singing like he was the man
