CHAPTER 17

MHAVEL POV

“Ma’am, where are you going? I am sorry I was just discussing things with my parents and Jhonny”

She suddenly asks but I can't seem to face her, I just swallowed an air to compose myself and face her

“Oh yes, I was actually calling you for how many times but you are not answering so I enter your gate and was about to knock but I forgot something inside the car so there, I was about to go back to my car when you call me,”  I said then head my way to the car.

I don’t know what to react but I really hate people breaking my trust.

I just ask her if we can go now then ask her the location, apparently, Montgomery townhouse is what my friend offers me to have a house of my own before.

So I already know where in Pasig it is located.

While we are on the road I got an idea to know exactly the truth about her being a thief so I ask her to play the fast talk.

While we are in the middle of throwing questions, I can't help to make it personal to her and I noticed that she is doing the same.

The heat is on between us as the throwing of question that goes on.

There is a lot of times that I can't help but to stop and look at her coz of her stupid question!

“Yes, do you feel satisfied with his shaft?” she ask that shocks me, damn this b***h, she is really taking this far alright let see…

“No, how often do you steal now that you are grown up?” I ask and I can see how she stopped and stared at me coz of my question.

Look at this b***h she is eating what she just throw up on me!

The succeeding throwing of question is getting personal and deep until she admits that she is indeed a thief and it is her sideline, honestly, I didn’t know she would be this straight forwards and real, I didn’t expect that especially when she asked me those question which I somehow felt guilty about what I am trying to imply by playing this game…

Okay, I am now eating what I throw up on her f**k!

“Yes, knowing all this is not worth it to be called a good person?”

She asks that suddenly stops me though I really did stop the car since it is already at Montgomery and point it to her though, I get what she wants to ask, and I must admit I felt bad about what I am doing to her, I am not in the position to interrogate her about her other job though still, it isn’t something to be tolerated.

When I told her my plan on how to get in, she was about to walk when I stop her and I start to speak.

“Stealing something you don’t own is like killing someone’s ownership which is more than a life to others and being called a good person is counted by doing good things which are being a human, and being a human doesn’t require to have a perfect life, sometimes we lie, sometimes we hide, and sometimes we steal… but most of the time we have a choice to do something better, you don’t need to be a good person you just need to be a better one and it is all on you”

I said then head my way to the gate, she was left standing behind me, I know I don’t have the right to judge her but I have the position to know that my appointed secretary should be safe for me and trustworthy.

I didn’t look at her at my back since in just a minute I already felt her presence beside me walking.

When we got to the gate the guard asks us right away.

“What is it Maam?” the guard asks

“I was here before with my friend who just bought a vacant house here so I wanted to inquire as well?” I said and I guess the guard bites our tricks again.

“Okay Maam, let me bring you to our office and talk to our staff here,” the guard said

“Oh I already know where it is, besides it is your duty at this time, we don’t want to disturb you, sir,” I said and I can  see Sanhia is looking indifferent at me

“Alright Ma’am, they can also give you a tour here,” he said and just let us in

I actually don’t know where the office is, I am not planning to go there though upon realizing that they are giving a tour, I guess we can use that to locate where Minerva is staying.

“I guess we really need to go to the office and take advantage of the tour,” she said

“That is what I thought, let's go,” I said

We head our way to the office and try our best to look for it, it has been 10 minutes pass since we get in.

I don’t think we are lost but I guess we are really taking so long to find the office.

When we get to the multipurpose building, I guess this is where the events here are being held, Sanhia suddenly stops that confuse me

“Why?” I ask

“That’s… that’s her, Minerva the secretary,” she said

“Really? So that is her house” I said and the woman in pink dress is watering the plants around her small yard

“I guess we need to take time first, we need to let her get in before we go and approach her, it is much safer if she is inside the house,” I said

“Alright, then we need to stay here for a while,” she said and we just stay quiet here for a minute

“Do you really mean what you said?” I ask since we need to take a little time waiting for the secretary to get in

“What? The thief thing?” she asked

“What else duh!” I said then rolled my eyes at her

“What do you think?” she asks which I actually anticipated

“Just don’t mess up with me,” I said then walk towards the secretary house, she was about to say something when I left her but she later realizes why

“You really like cutting someone from talking huh?” she said then rolled her eyes on me as well and walks over me going to the door

When we both in front of the house door we look at each other first then start to knock

“Knock…knock..”

“Yes!?” the woman said then open the door

“Hi,” I said

“Yes? What can I do for you?” she asks

I was about to say something but Sanhia starts to speak

“Oh, we are actually looking around and planning to get one of the houses here, though we want to go to the office we realize that we are lost and then we saw you and thinking if you can help us,” she said wearing her all smiley face.

“Ahmm yes, instead of going to the office since we will still need to decide, I guess your opinion will be such a help for our decision,” I said

“Oh, okay sure, Ahmm, we can talk inside,” she said and we both secretly smiled at it

When we get inside, she let us sit on her couch

“It been really a while since I have a visitor so I didn’t have any snack or something but I have chips to cook, could both of you just wait I will prepare them first” she explains and then walk towards her kitchen

“I guess we need to confront her,” Sanhia said

“Alright then it is the right time,” I said then stand up and walk towards her kitchen when I saw her being grabbed by a man with a knife

“f**k! Who are you?” I shout

And I am stunned when behind me another man is about to attack but I avoid it, I heard a cracking glass and I saw Sanhia holding a trophy with blood and a man is now unconsciously lying on the floor.

She seems to hit him hard and now the man who just attacks me will attack the secretary so I run fast to stop him, I hold his arms then flip him over to the table.

I don’t know who the f**k is these people but one thing I can understand right now, they are here to kill Minerva.

I pick the remote that was dropped on the floor then throw it hard to the man who is holding Minerva, he was hit at the forehead that I guess makes him weak that is why he loosen his arms grabbing her.

“Minerva, run!!!” I shout

Then she runs fast towards the door but Sanhia stops her.

“Not so fast Miss,” she said then holds her arms and pulled her outside making sure she won't escape but of course be safe

And for me, these bastards are still alive so I need to take care of them, the one who was knocked by Sanhia is now standing, I guess she just got lucky to hit him earlier.

He attacks me with his leg that I avoided, I give him a punch at his stomach but still get on so I manage to give him a kick on his face, it is a blow-by-blow kick that hits his jaw and makes him unconscious this time.

I run outside following Sanhia and Minerva, I know that they hide at the back of the chapel, Sanhia texted me.

When I got there I can see that Minerva keeps on crying.

“You better stop that unless you want us to be caught here,” I said

Sanhia throws a death glare at me which I responded with rolled eyes.

“Hey, things will go bad if they will hear us, ahmmm we need to get out here soon,” Sanhia said

“No…!!! I cant…” Minerva said

“Huh? Cant, you see? There are people who were just trying to kill you!” I said in pissed

“I can't, the Arsenas will surely look for me I am more protected if I am here,” she said

“I am sorry to disappoint you but the Arsenas I guess they are the ones who commanded them to kill you,” Sanhia said that actually surprised me

“That is not possible! They have protected me for five years!” she exclaimed

“Yes but I am sure that those people are with them, the wallet that drops when I hit the man by the trophy, he is one of the employees working in Carsen construction company, so better listen to us, either you will stay here and be killed or you will join us getting out of here” Sanhia explains

“If ever that you are so stubborn then we don’t care anymore about you but you must give what we want from you,” I said

“W-want from me? What do you mean?” Minerva ask

“Yes, a complete information of the incident of the death of Vincent Arsenas from five years ago,” Sanhia said that shocks Minerva

“W-why? Who are you people?” she asks

I can see the seriousness all over Sanhia’s face, she turns her gazes on Minerva then seriously look at her

“Me? I am Sanhia Almoral, the daughter of the person who suffer in prison for the sin he didn’t do, of course, my surname will be unforgettable for you!” she said and all I can see is a madness within her which I understand.

“No…! this cant be…I-I don’t have anything to do with that! I mean…they threatened me.. hmmm sob*sob*” she said while fear is all over her eyes then a sudden burst of tears showered her face

I know Sanhia is in the midst of her emotion but we don’t have the time, we need to go so I hold Minerva’s hand and pulled her.

“Let's discuss this thing further later but for now we need to go!” I said and I can see Sanhia seems to gets it

“Well then Minerva, you must come with us,” Sanhia said

I guess she has no choice, we simply walk relax going out of the gate of the townhouse then head our way to my car.

I didn’t waste any chance but to start the engine and drive.

While on the road silence surrounds us three, like no one between the two, wants to talk, on my end I don’t know what to say as well coz somehow it does not literally concern me, though I know that woman in black has something to do with this issue besides Mom would mention Arsenas for no reason.

It took me 45 minutes to get to my house; I think it is much safer in my place than anywhere.

I let the two of them just rest themselves on the couch and I command my maids to prepare some food.

When I get back to the couch I heard Sanhia speaking

“Who really killed Vincent?” she asks directly

And I can see that Minerva starts trembling a little.

“i-its…Mrs. Arsenas…though…there is a mistake on that, hmmmmm I can't say it, I mean who would believe my words and what I saw” she said while tears on her eyes

“Just spill it,” I said then sit on the couch with them

“Mrs. Arsenas seems to be a different person from time to time, there is a reason why I wasn’t damaged so much, something strange is happening to her” Minerva explains

“Alright before that, what was really happen to you back then? Why my Dad was thrown to prison even he didn’t commit any crime!” Sanhia said with a little high tone of her voice.

“B-Back then… I was fixing the documents and papers for tomorrow’s meeting when the door of Mrs. Arsenas suddenly close, I was startled and the light starting to glitch until it went off, it is really dark and only the light from outside the building was the only light provides us, I know that Mrs. Arsenas is still talking to the phone with her Son when that was happen, so even it is dark I manage to look for her until I  heard her at my back still talking to the phone but giving me that scary look, she is holding the the knife then quickly stab me on my back when I was about to run, I was all soaked in blood lying down and she was about to stab me again but she suddenly hesitated, I can see in her gesture that she is fighting herself, and that was the time I felt weak, and the last I have seen was the janitor who just enter the office, when I get conscious again I saw her looking down the balcony but I didn’t know what has happened before that, the police arrives and the janitor was there, Mrs. Arsenas passed out to her position that she almost falls down the balcony as well when the police save her” she explains

Damn, this is now getting confusing, I mean it seems that Mrs. Arsenas indeed has the biggest secret; I guess my Mom is right somehow, they really have something to do with her death.

“So there is really something going on with your Boss?” Sanhia ask

“ Yes that was the time when she was visited by the name Catalina Perse” she mentions that shocked us

So, Catalina Perse, is I guess the person behind all of this…I will find that out!
