A NEW WEEK.
Miss Garza arrived the following day after we left the hospital and she has been living with me since then. Fortunately, Mr Garza will be discharged tomorrow and then leave for the US again. My dad called to inform me of his arrival to the UK, meaning I'll be going back to London soon.
It feels so surreal looking back at the various events that happened when I arrive here in Oxford especially Sydney.
"Am I ready to let him go? Forget all about him?" I sighed.
As days flew by, so did my feelings for him grow deeper and deeper. Thinking about him every single time, his brown eyes which vividly shone before my eyes and his soft lips that I could not forget and the taste of it. The way my hands felt under his skin I wanted to feel them again. Work seems tedious these past days but I found myself smiling to myself whenever I thought of Sydney. It's been a while since I experience those nightmares again.
"Uhh!" Such a shame that he's already taken. I took a deep breath.
SYDNEY'S POV.
It's been several days since my last unexpected encounter with Zayan at the hospital. Jayde and Alex pestered me to tell them the whole story of what happened. I tried my best to tell them what happened except me being an omega. They did not seem to buy my explanation cos I told them I was not feeling well which made me vulnerable for the offender to do what he did.
Alex did not seem to disbelief but Jayde did. She seemed quite displeased especially me staying in Zayan's boss’ house. Not just that, the fact I didn't call her when everything happened at the club. She didn't stay with us for long cause she left to her ward. I bid Alex goodbye and we left to our various wards to continue working.
The night came nearer and it was time to leave. As usual, Jayde always drove us home all the time but today, I decided to avoid any awkwardness in advance. My only option is to take the train back to my apartment.
As I walked to the parking lot, Alex called out to me.
"Sydney, hurry. We are waiting for you", he yelled waving his hands towards my direction. I was so dumbfounded.
I walked toward them dragging my feet like a sheep being held to the slaughter.
"Come on, Sydney." Alex added. I slowly opened the door and sat at the backseat behind Jayde's seat.
"Why are you here? Alex remarked just in time as I sat close to him. "What's going on in your head?" He joked.
Obviously, I couldn't tell him it was because of what happened when I revealed what actually occurred.
"Just let him be," Jayde responded while igniting the engine.
Throughout the ride, everyone was silent. None spoke a word neither did anyone bring forward a conversation for us to indulge in. The night sky was clear, no stars present, just the brightness of the moon shining brightly illuminating the sky.
On the other hand, Alex has been on his phone since we left the premises of the hospital. I caught him smiling at his phone several times and wondered if he had a lover or it's a fling. Amongst us, Alex is more reserved and he keeps his business to himself unless he want to share with us. This makes our friendship more diverse than any other thing.
My eyes took a glimpse of a text that appeared on his phone, which said:
"See you at home, baby."
He realised I saw the text and stared at me with the "don't say anything look". I just feigned ignorance and went back to watching the night sky.
Long after we arrived at my apartment, I took a deep breath before exiting the car. I walked to Jayde's side and muttered a "thank you for the ride." before they left. I gestured toward Alex to give me a call after.
LATER THAT NIGHT.
I was sitting behind my study desk revising my notes for the upcoming test. My eyes were a bit heavy, I took my phone to check the time and it was already past 10pm. Meaning I studied for 3 hours. I stood up turning off my study lamp and went straight to my bed. Nothing excites me more than having a good night sleep.
Moments later, my phone began to ring disturbing the quiet night. I answered my phone still half-asleep, clearly not seeing the name of the caller.
"Hello," I said softly in my sleepy voice. There was a short silence on the call before the person replied.
"Open your door, I'm outside," my heart thumped. I quickly rose from my bed to clearly see who it was. Only then did I realise who it was.....that damn bodyguard.
"What does he want again? And how did he find my address? This is so creepy?" I snapped.
I sluggishly walked towards the door and half-opened the door. I expected to see him in front of me but he stood behind three other men - another figure stood beside him, almost the same height but a difference in stature.
"Could he be his boss?" I thought.
"Are you going to make me stand here?" Zayan expressed, his hands sitting gently on both side of his long black coat's pocket.
"Huh!" I was confused. "What do you mean?" I retorted.
The figure standing beside him spoke.
"Mr Kim, please be polite." He requested.
I stood still as the door widely opened revealing my exposed legs and hands as I wore a simple short and plain top. The cold air washed over me igniting every bit of cell to react to its coldness.
Zayan whispered something to the man standing beside him and just then everyone left the scene except him. He walked towards me as I stood there motionless. He took off his coat and placed it over me ushering me back to my room. He made me sit gently on the sofa as he knelt down on one knee right in front of me.
"Syd...." I stared at him as he said that. "Can I call you that?" He asked as he realised my facial expression. I nodded in agreement.
