He’s the CEO

"There is nothing here to see," I said while handing over the phone. Just then, an article caught my eye resulting in taking the phone back from Jayde. It's a lie. It is a lie! My jaw dropped open as I began to tremble due to the blow of this revelation. "What? He's the son of the Edwards Group? The son who became the CEO at a young age?" I was in disbelief. I was torn between being excited of him being the CEO or mad at the thought of him being young. I handed the phone to Jayde lost in my thoughts. "He is young? How young?" Alex finally asked, walking toward me. I didn't know I was on the verge of losing my feet until Alex held unto me. "How old is he?" He asked Jayde who was still reading the article. "He is 20 years," she replied as if not sure. "Ugh!" Alex gasped. I felt like I was struck by lightning as I stood motionless on the same spot staring into nothingness. I was ready to be with him but now all hope seems lost. It ended even before it started. "Let's go....in," I said after regaining my composure. "We have a test to write, we have to prepare ourselves for it," I added leading the way. . . . It was already time for us to write our test and we walked to the room ready to sit for this paper. I did not see him when I came inside neither did I receive a text or a call. I was worried sick about him but he ~ doesn't even care a bit. Mr F came in and began to hand us the question paper, it was an hour paper. Everyone seem to be scribbling down their answers while I was day-dreaming, Mr F came over to me and knocked on my table alerting me. "Mr Kim, are you done with your work?" He asked looking down at me. Everybody raised their head at the sudden news but I shook my head in response. I quickly checked the time and it was 30 minutes passed. I had just 30 minutes to finish these set of questions. "Time up," Mr F said while he stood up from his seat. "Mr Kim, take everyone's paper and bring it to my office", he added before leaving. I went round taking each and every one's paper and submitting it to Mr F. "Good afternoon, Sir. Here are the test sheets." I handed it over to him while he checked them thoroughly before dismissing me. I hurriedly rushed to catch up with Jayde and Alex although after what happened this morning it might be difficult for us to have a conversation. We went out to grab some lunch and throughout the walk no one spoke a word. I frequently took my phone out to see if Zayan had sent a message or called but he did neither. Just then, someone crossed our path, it was Dave. Jayde and Alex stared at us, their eyes scrutinizing every single time. "Where is he?" I asked him trying to keep my cool. He pointed towards his car that was parked beside the red post box. I sighed before making my way there. I turned to my friends and "see you guys later, I'll be back soon". . . . "Why didn't you tell me? Were you planning on lying to me the entire time?" I asked very impatient. "What are you talking about?" He asked with a concerned yet confused look on his face. He tried to hug me but I pushed him away. "Stay away from me!" I half-yelled giving him no room for explanation. He still tried to comfort me but the bit of me that was broken let out a cry. Immediately, both Dave and the driver left the car. I fell into his embrace crying my heart out hoping all this was a lie and it was a misunderstanding. "What's wrong? Talk to me." He softly said raising my head to look at him. I calmed myself down and sat upright leaving no space between us, his eyes fixed on me and his hands filled with warmth caressing my thighs. "I found out the truth. I found out that ~ you are the son of the owner of Edwards Group, the new CEO." "What? Is that why you're crying?" He began to laugh. I looked away hiding my shamefaced. He pulled me into his embrace once again rubbing my back in circles and calmly said: "I don't care if I am the CEO. Nothing is worth my time in this world unless it has to do with you. You have my time and my money, you also have my men at your beck and call. Importantly, you have ME. I am so sorry for hurting you like this. I should have told you when you asked earlier but I wanted it to be a surprise when you come visit in London. I am really sorry, please forgive me." His reassuring words felt like what my heart needed at that moment even without me having to say anything. I tightened my grip on his neck and placed a kiss on his cheek. "I'm still angry at you. You didn't text or call me once after you left," I feigned hurt. He took out a flower that he had hidden in the car and gave it to me. "I got this for you," he warmly said smiling. My heart kept thumping as his smile widened. "Do you smile like this every time?" I asked with a serious look on my face. "No, it's just you." " Better. Don't ever smile at anyone, okay." I said jokingly. "I promise, I wouldn't." We hugged once again before I got off the car back to the hospital.
