"You know Demo saved my life," Solomon said.
"No, I don’t know," Tatti said. "Tell me about it."

Demo was kept under guard at Bellevue Hospital. His shoulder wound healed well. Nobody visited him. Tatti made sure of that and acted as a relay between Demo and his three friends. Jesse didn't see Utica and Solomon either. Tatti made sure of that too.
Demo was brought before a magistrate, who heard the charges. Tatti had Demo plead guilty. There was no trial and no plea-bargaining. Tatti kept it sweet and short so there would be no snooping. No awkward questions. Had Demo plea-bargained and turned state's evidence Tatti maybe could have gotten him off. Demo would not hear of it.
"What do you think I am?" he asked Tatti.
