"Mama why we can't stay with daddy anymore?" Selena's mother looked her in the eyes and said, "Daddy has a lot of issues that mommy can't fix right now. Mommy and Daddy love you regardless." Alice Mason explained to Selena. Omar Mason did no wrong in Selena eyes, he was her hero. Omar Mason had an anger issue that increase with alcohol. His target was Alice who never did anything right in his eyes. The only thing that Omar considered right was having his babies. Alice and Omar only got married because she was pregnant with his Son. Then she blessed him three years later with his daughter. Alice knew how much Omar doted on Selena and Selena on him. Alice would do nothing to destroy the relationship. Leaving Omar was the hardest thing she had to do but she had to. Omar had almost lost his control and about chocked her to death. She felt the life oozing out of her body but she held on because of Selena and Samuel. "Why the hell you didn't have me nothing cooked?" Omar had been drinking and his breath reeked of it. You saying that I am a liar whore." It was hard to breathe much less talk. Alice started fading off but she wasn't going out at the hands of her husband. She tried moving his hand but he tighten his grip. Alice was about to give up but she mustered enough of strength to place her thumb in his eye so that he would release her. He yelled out in pain and loosen his grip on her neck. Alice acted on impulse and kneed him in the balls hard he let out a scream and fell to his knees. She grabbed the lamp and cracked him against his head. He was out like a light. Alice grabbed a packed bag she already had packed for her and the kids. Grabbed a hoodie and fled as fast as she could in her Impala that he bought. Omar had payed for everything that she owed. So starting over was a giant step for her, She found a studio apartment that was big enough for her and the children. Alice started putting money away so she could afford her rent for a year until she found a job. They had been gone a good 48 hours before Omar had found them. This time he was sober and wanted his kids. Alice refused and told him her demands which he agreed to them. He needed to talk to a therapist. He needed AA and he needed parenting classes.
