She had been so happy. With the twins helping her move, with no more sneaking around about our relationship. I could tell she was looking forward to seeing Miles again, and even when Zoë and Alex told her they were expecting a baby, there was nothing but joy. But I also knew it was short-lived.
The moment I shook Alice’s hand in the hallway, I saw the similarities with Eliza. Eliza’s eyes were light like honey, but Alex had those same eyes, just like their father. Given the circumstances in which Eliza’s father had met her mother, this had to be their half-sister.
