Chapter 72
Eliza’s POV:
“I love you, Eliza, so much that it almost hurts!” I hear Jason say in the distance. My hearing was muffled like I was underwater or something.
The next thing I hear is, “Eliza?” The voice was much clearer this time, and it wasn’t Jason’s but that of my own wolf, Lexie. It was a voice I hadn’t heard for several days, and I was grateful to hear it again.
“Lexie! It’s so nice to hear your voice again. Are you okay? Are you in pain?”
“Yes, I’m okay. I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you and the pup from the suffering. Sorry, I wasn’t there for you.” The sadness in her voice was evident.
“Lex, it’s okay; you couldn’t help it. Neither of us could help it. We both know who is responsible for our pain and sorrow!”
“Liz, Jason and Luke won’t be able to deal with that.”
