Chris came home after a week of flying and staying in hotels. It was good to be home. As he opened the door, three children and a dog came running to greet him. He showed each one attention, hugging and smiling as they filled him in on everything since he had been gone. Penny came in from the kitchen, drying her hands on a towel and smiling. She had missed her husband even though he always called and texted her every evening. As Penny hugged and kissed him, she started sneezing, overcome with a powerful women’s cologne scent on him. “Did one of your customers hug you? She left her cologne behind,” Penny commented, taking his jacket off and holding it out from her. “Oh yeah, Jordan’s grandmother. She bathed in it, I think,” he said, laughing as he kissed her cheek. Christopher and Penny were high school sweethearts. They had never had so much as a serious fight. People were always commenting on what a perfect marriage they had because they were such a happy couple and were model parents. “It’s good to be home. It’s been a long week,” Chris said as Penny sat down on his lap in the big lounge chair and snuggled against him. Chris wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close, enjoying the feel of her body against him. “I missed you,” Penny admitted, holding her ear to his chest, listening to his heartbeat. “I missed you too, Baby. It’s really good to hold you in my arms again,” he said, reaching down to kiss her lips. “Mommy, we’re hungry. Let’s eat,” six-year-old Liam said, waiting for them to get up and come to the dining room. The two laughed and followed him to the dining room. Three-year-old Angel and Four-year-old Michael were already seated at the table as April served them. She instructed Liam to sit down so she could fill his plate as well. He hurriedly took his seat, smiling at the housekeeper. She smiled and nodded in approval as she filled his plate. They were having spaghetti and meatballs which was the children’s favorite, so they were all excited. Penny was a night nurse, so the two had hired April, Penny’s cousin, to help with the house and children when Angel was born. They all loved April, and she had become part of their family as well as a valuable household manager. For Penny, she was good adult company when Chris was gone. “I have good news. That is, if Mommy can get a few days off. We are going on a family vacation. April, you are coming too. I earned a vacation trip to Hawaii from the airlines,” Chris proudly explained. The children and April cheered. Penny smiled hopefully. “When are we going?” She asked, hoping she could take the time off. “That’s up to you, my dear lady,” he said, kissing the top of her hand as he clasped it in his. “Oh, that’s wonderful, Honey. So, we have time for me to plan the time off,” she added. “Okay, then, let’s plan for the kids’ spring break,” she suggested. Chris nodded, smiling at her. They didn’t often get to go anywhere for vacation as a family, so this was a great surprise. “I have always wanted to go to Hawaii, Chris. This will be the trip of a lifetime for us all,” Penny said. “I am excited to have two whole weeks with my beautiful wife and children,” Chris admitted. “Two nights a week with my family just isn’t enough,” he added, looking around the table at them all. “It will be wonderful, Honey. I’m looking forward to it for us all,” Penny said. The children started chattering and April was answering all their questions. Chris kissed Penny’s hand again, winking at her as a secret signal that he wanted to be alone with her. Penny asked April if she would get the children ready for bed since she wanted to discuss the details of their trip privately with Chris. April nodded, giving them an understanding smile. The couple took a shower together, enjoying bathing each other. Their seductive touches and kisses led them to their bedroom where they continued to show each other how much they had missed each other. After their intense lovemaking, the two lay in each other’s embrace, satisfied in their own happy places which was in each other’s arms.
