Chapter Twenty Four
Find Me
MY EYES was glued in the title page of the folder I was holding.
This is a file about the Project: LOTUS and by the thickness of it, it implies a comprehensive information about the classified project.
I bit my lips and decided to close it for now.
This is it I guess. When I decided to go back here to find something valueble, I was not really sure of what I want to find yet this folder in my hand... I guess I have a good one.
I decided to go back to my room and safekeep this file. I have to carefully close all the secret passages that opened before returning to my room.
When I passed by the living room again, I saw Manong Ronald carrying a huge garbage bag outside the house while Nanang is delicately cleaning the dusty flower vases using a feather duster. Perhaps she was done cleaning the two rooms back there so she's already helping Manong Ronald with chores here. She is a fast-worker, indeed.
I went back to my room to safekeep the file inside my backpack. I checked the time on my wrist watch while carefully zipping my bag shut.
Oh, did not notice the time. It is already 11 am. I guess it is time for lunch, huh?
I walked downstairs again to checked on Nanang and Manong Ronald who are still dilligently cleaning the huge living room, I figured they also cleaned the terrace and the dead garden in front of the house.
I approached Nanang who looks so immersed with cleaning the coffee table in front of her. Her body shook in shock when I tap her shoulders to get her attention.
"Arylle!" She said in an almost scolding voice, her palms dramatically on her chest.
"Just wanna ask if we should eat our lunch now," I said nonchalantly.
"Oh..." she removed the hand on her chest as she looked on her ancient wrist watch. "I didn't notice the time. Yes, we should eat now hija but I'm not sure if the kitchen is still functionab--"
"I'll just order our food. You can rest now, tell Manong Ronald to take some rest too," I then turned around to sit in a nearby sofa, they already removed the white fabrics that covered the sofas nd couch earlier. There are no traces of dusts too so they must have clean this one too. We did a hard cleaning specially we don't have electrical supply here so we can't even use a vacuum cleaner. Luckily, there is a water pump near our former garden so they we had an access to water.
I opened my phone to order some food for our lunch. As I dialled some digits, the thought of what inside the black folder flew into my mind like tiny butterflies teasing me into a mysterious void. Well whatever it is, I am sure that it is something... valuable.
The food that I ordered came after almost an hour if waiting. The three of us feasted with the food before I decided to go back to my room after that sumptuous meal. I am itching to find what lies beneath that black folder.
I decided to lock myself in my room for awhile, I do not want any form of interruption once I dive into that file alright. I tied my hair into a bun before fishing out the black folder into my backpack and then pushing myself into lie on the sofa inside my room since the bed here was already removed.
Project: LOTUS
I read the title page again, my eyes turned into slits when I noticed a subtitle beneath it.
Project: LOTUS
After The Ten Month Training
So... this file must be the most updated information about the whole project, huh? I rally found a good one.
I caressed each letter of the front page using my index finger before finally flipping it open.
A blank page welcomed me so I flipped it again to the next page and my breath almost hitched when I saw a familiar face on the top right of the page.
Zephyre.
I peruse every word in her file.
Name: Zephyre Mendoza
Age: 11 years old
Sex: Female
Blood Type: A+
Natural Eye Color: Black
Transformative Eye Color: Purple
Skill: Bio Levitation
The side of the paper is a little bit burnt for still unknown reason so I had to stopped a bit to thoroughly understand the text since some parts of it have burn stains. I resume in reading her file, trying to make sense of it despite having a hard time because of the black blotches of burn marks throughout the whole paper.
I saw the something below the page which looks like a description of her skill so I read it...
Bio Levitation (n): The ability to rise bodies or other living matters in the air.
Yeah, this is exactly Zephyre's skill. She has the ability to float all the living creatures around her--almost immobilizing them in the air as she control them on her own will. However, her power is limited because she cannot move of float non living objects. Hence, her skill is called Bio Levitation because it is only applicable for living things like what she did to me the last time.
I continue to read her file and my interest was piqued by the additional information about her skill.
Zephyre Mendoza's skill enables her to levitate herself and the people around her with the maximum amount of five people in the start of her training. She can make it last for 10 minutes before her body starts to tremble as a sign of exhaustion which will eventually lead in the faltering of her skill.
After a series of test and evaluation done for the 10-month of the Project: Lotus, the extent of her skill shows a promising progress. She can now wield her Biological Levitation to herself and 20 other subjects with a maximum duration of 12 hours.
I bit my lower lip as I read every word. Damn... I know from the strat that she is very good in wielding her skill but this file just slapped it to me again as a reminder of her true strength but then... this file is already outdated so she is basically a hell ot of stronger now. I wonder how long she can use her skill now that she is already 18 years old.
Damn it.
I flipped the succeeding pages of her file and some of it were impossible to be read because of the burn marks but most of it are still readable like a certain page that caught my attention...
Mutant Impulse Report
I read the three-word title. I creased my forehead when those words suddenly rang a bell in me. I think I have heard that term before...
"Xander, we should make something about her impulse! It's already taking a toll on her..."
