CONSIDER YOURSELF A PRINCESS
Leilani’s Pov
I was currently in a black and black outfit. Black joggers, a hoodie with a face cap on. I donned on my black shades and walked side by side with my savior.
He had offered me a helping hand to help bring down my enemies. Such opportunity do not come by easily, being given a second chance to live and redeem yourself. It was like our creator was giving you a shot to change all the bad choices one had made.
With my ticket in my hand I locked arms with him. I had seen my part to play, to be the perfect daughter that he never had and execute his enemies.
I stopped abruptly, heaving, my thoughts were a tangled mess with last minute of hesitation, I turned back and look out down the bees of people in the airport.
“Are you ready?” he asked me.
Was I? That's the question i’d been churning over and over in my head. Yet an answer was never derived. I didn't think anyone would, but I? I must be.
Cormac, I sacrificed everything for him while he cheated, lied, betrayed me on the altar, married my best friend and as if that wasn't enough he planted his seed inside of me. I’d be mad to not f*****g be ready.
“I'm ready,” I declared with a straight face.
“Very well then,” he smiled.
“Shall we?” I returned his smile and we both walked in.
We were currently flying in the VIP section, just I and him were occupying this space. A drink was offered to, a fruit juice however, I asked for a strong liquor. Something hard like the way my life had been lately.
I stared out all through the flight, numb, eyes wholly focused to the night sky that was filled with stars. I didn't want to think of anything, I might tear up and the longer I cried the easier I would forget everything that had happened and I certainly couldn’t allow that.
This hatred and rage must go on, I'll need it to have my revenge. My hand dropped to my stomach instinctively, as I stroked my yet to rise baby bump, I whispered to my baby, “I love you,” with tears streaming from my eyes for my child. “Mum loves you.”
We arrived at the airport and alighted the plane, a black Bugatti car was spotted, seating beautifully, waiting for us.
A man in black marched out to us, I was yet to know how influential my new father was.
He bowed as he greeted, “welcome Sir.”
Mr. Aldo patted his shoulder, “how's things been going on here?” he asked.
“All same, they assume you are dead Sir,” the man replied.
“Well I live for surprise, drive us down,” he instructed, he came to a sudden halt and pointed to me, “oh meet my daughter, Leilani Aldo,” he introduced me.
“Nice meeting you ma'am,” he bowed as he greeted me.
It was awkward and I didn't know how to reply so I resolved to, “thank you.”
The car was opened for us and we clambered in, “welcome sir,” the lawyer greeted, opening his suitcase. He passed papers to me of which I read through and signed.
The street of London was lively and buzzing. All I did was stare and stare at the city, their monuments and building.
On a good day when I wasn’t sad and loathing someone, I'd love to come here and relax, rest from the day’s work.
It wasn't long before we pulled up into a large compound, the water fountain was the first thing that welcomed me then gardens and to the left a flower maze.
Wow! I almost gasped, my eyes couldn't take in enough, good thing I'll be staying here.
“First thing you mustn't do, never cower in front of them, speak up and be bold. Don't let anyone, I mean anyone trample on you. You are the chairman’s daughter do you understand?” Mr. Aldo instructed.
“They are a bunch of hungry dogs, however you are a lion,” he locked gaze with me as he spoke. Seeming to convey deeper meanings through his eyes.
“Yes father,” I said and he smiled.
I wanted to open the car door before he refrained me, “you don't get to do anything. Consider yourself a princess,” he said.
My hands fell to my laps as I nodded. Another awe escaped my lips.
The car doors opened and we stepped out. We walked side by side into the mansion.
“The chairman is here!” the guard announced, from were we stood. We could hear them gasp in utter shock.
“Head high, shoulder back, you got this Leilani,” I muttered to myself.
The double lid door flew open and I was first blinded by lights, glittering lights. Mr. Aldo stepped in first and I followed behind him.
“Father,” a voice gasped.
“Grandfather?” another called in a starstruck tone.
“What? Who's she?” another asked and a pair of disapproving looks was tossed at me.
“Who's she and why is she here,” a girl asked, walking past me. Her eyes scanned me in disdain, clear hatred showing.
She didn't know me and yet she already hated me, humans, I scoffed.
“What was that?” she asked, glaring daggers at me. I must say I have had a fair enough share of bitchy females.
“She's my daughter and my heir!” Mr. Aldo, my father, suddenly announced to the shock of everyone.
“What!” There was an uproar and an even more scornful look at me.
“She? Where did you pick her from, she can't be your heir! You have children!” they all rattled on like some community women.
“I don't and that's why I have found myself an heir,” Mr. Aldo said firmly.
“You went to New York, we didn't hear from you, we thought you were ——-.”
“Dead?” He completed like he knew and they all went silent, looking anywhere but him. And by the look on their face, they hoped he was.
“I'm most pleased to announce to my loving family that I am alive and well!” he said.
“Grandfather you can't do this! She's a total stranger and heaven knows where she's from,” the girl spat.
“Sir, I have arranged everything for her,” a woman walked in. She looked strangely familiar.
“That's good, she'll stay in the villa,” Mr. Aldo announced and if it weren't for the fact that I had been prepped to act high I'd gasp right now.
“What! You certainly cannot! Grandpa!” they all grumbled.
“Arrange a driver that will take her there,” Mr. Aldo went on to instruct amidst his family’s complaint.
“Yes sir,” she bowed and turned to me. I saw a moment where there was a flicker of doubt and confusion in her hazel eyes, however they were gone as soon as I saw it, which had me wondering if I really did see it.
“This way ma'am,” she guided me with her arms and a slight bow.
“This way Sir,” a guard equally ran to my now father.
Just as I turned the girl shouted, “you better leave now you have the chance, freak!” she spat and the others chuckled.
I stopped, turned and glared at her from my blackshades without muttering a word before I followed the lady out.
“What the hell! Did you see her! Grandfather!” she threw a fit, however I was shown to my ride. I hopped on and the car was set in ignition.
It was a quiet ride, we arrived and I was stunned at the architect, this had got to top all the villa I've ever laid eyes on.
“This way ma'am,” the woman’s voice rang in my ear like I had heard it somewhere but it never completely came to my memory.
I was escorted inside, “I'll be away ma'am, you can call me if you need anything,” she bowed and walked away.
“Excuse me,” I called.
She halted and turned, “yes ma'am?”
I was silent for a long while before I said, “nothing, you may leave.”
She bowed and walked out, my eyes glanced around and they stopped when they saw Cormac’s project in the New York Times magazine.
He was smiling and that made my inside twitch from pains as the memories reeled back into my head. My fist balled as I gritted my teeth
“See you soon Cormac,” I said as I stared at his beaming self in the television.
