Taming The King

PREFACE Purpose. The moment my eyes opened to the real world, I was taught of the purpose of my existence. My family was said to be special because we were given the gift to communicate with the higher beings. Therefore I should feel that way, too. But there were times that I still wonder if being an oracle was the only reason why I was born. Although they said I was lucky to be part of the Evergreen family, something inside me often seeks for more. My curiosity led me to getting myself into trouble when I was seven, and since that near-death experience, I realized maybe questioning everything people had told me was complete insanity… Until he happened in my life. Everything turned completely upside down. My existence mattered more than I thought it would, my purpose was served in the most unexpected way. As I took in my last few deep breaths, images of a borrowed forever flashed inside my head. I remembered the first time he held me in his arms and how my body reacted, how I felt home with him better than I got used to. I remembered the gentle touches and promises that were never meant for him to fulfill. Not even half of it, but despite my awareness, I chose to hold on to every word his tender lips had uttered against my ear. My lips flashed a broken smile as tears finally rolled down the sides of my face, my eyes staring at the cloudless sky decorated with millions and millions of stars, my heart silently begging each for a few more moments to beat for him. Maybe love is something I shouldn’t have asked for, because as I finally shut my eyes and surrender my fight to live, I heard nothing from the man I gave my heart to, yet he’s still the only person I kept inside of it as it beat its last beat.
