KATS POV
I awake to a room filled with darkness, my eyes adjusting as I wonder what woke me up.

It was my window! I pushed the covers back, scrambling over to push the drapes back. At first, I can't see anyone, but then I make out the familiar shape of Jesse. My heart hammers in my chest as I point to the front of the house, tiptoeing down the stairs as I know Maggie is on her rest days.
I unlock the front door as Jesse walks in, bringing with him the cold scent of the night air. I lock the door, turning to him as he takes my face into his hands, his lips on mine. He tasted faintly of beer, but I don't care. I wrap my hands around his neck as he kisses me before breaking away.
