Feelings for Loyrane

1915 Words
The plan had not worked. They spent the whole night waiting and waiting but the inhumans didn't show up even when the sun began to rise and the hope people had was replaced with confusion since it was the first time the inhumans didn't show up and it was beginning to worry the people thinking that the inhumans had gone. They wanted the inhumans to go but not in this kind of way when they had not even tested if the poison would work. They wanted to at least try this one out but the inhumans didn't show up so that was a great disappointment for the people and so they headed to their homes with heavy hearts and scowls on their faces. The inhumans were still suffering from the side effects of blood that day and since the plants were done, they didn't know how to survive without them so when they took blood, they became weak and they didn't gain energy until the next afternoon and so they decided to tell their queen about the situation they had landed in so as to know what they should do next although they couldn't travel at the moment. Loyrane had told the people the half truth about the inhumans because he needed help desperately so he decided to tell them half of it though he felt guilty whenever he looked at Meg and for some reason he felt like if he didn't tell her he'll loose her but he couldn't tell her even if he wanted to. The less she knew, the better, he had told himself and went to sit besides Lily who was sitting by the balcony of their house and the girl blushed when he sat besides her. Loyrane sat quietly as Lily told him about her childhood moments with Meg and he was happy to hear about their childhood and he couldn't help but envy them because at the age of 5, he had began throwing knives and hunting with the army. Lily went on and told him about the times when she sneaked out at 12 and fell in the bear trap and she couldn't tell her parents or else she would get punished. She spent the whole week in the house locked in her room because she couldn't move properly without limping and the wound itself was ugly so she decided to lie to her parents that she had gone to visit her aunt and until now no one knows not even Meg. Speaking of the angel, Meg headed upstairs to ask Lily to assist her with something but she found her conversing with Loyrane and they were pretty close for her liking. And Loyrane went as far as hugging him and Meg couldn't believe it. She had asked Loyrane to come at their house for dinner that morning but he had declined saying he wanted to do something important and that he couldn't eat human food because he only prepared it for Meg since she always came to his bot and she had nodded her head in understanding but seeing him here conversing with Lily without her knowing made her feel betrayed. Loyrane lifted his head to the side to give Lily more access to touch his mask since she had politely asked him out of curiosity and he agreed but he tensed when he noticed Meg watching with her eyes filled with fury. Lily looked back at the direction he was facing and she beckoned Meg to come and join them and she wanted to refuse but seeing the expectant look on her sister's face, she agreed. Lily noticed the tension in the air when Meg came over but she decided to ignore it until it became unbearable for her. She whispered to Meg asking if she and the "masked" as she called Loyrane had fought but she replied with a no and this left Lily more confused and she kept wondering why Meg wanted to keep her away from the masked so she decided to ask her parents if there's something wrong with her. Meg hated the way she kept receiving glances from everyone at the table and it was starting to make her angry which she seemed to be doing a lot lately and she didn't even know why though her parents seemed to have a clue about it but they kept their mouth shut. When they were done with dinner, Meg's mom told her to come and help with the dishes and she obliged although she wanted to go to her room, prepare and go to Loyrane's bot because he had left shortly before dinner. "Do you like someone" Meg's mom asked Meg out of nowhere and she dropped the plate she was holding startled. "Nope" she replied after collecting her thoughts though her mind kept screaming yes. "OK do you feel something for your alien friend?" Her mom prodded further. "Mom I - why would you think that" Meg whispered trying to change the topic because she also didn't know the answer to the question. Maybe she did or Maybe she didn't either way she didn't want to know the answer because she knows a lot would change if she did. The mom chuckled when she saw her daughter's flustered face. She lifted Meg's head and held her cheeks making Meg feel like she was a baby once again. "Its okay to have feelings Meg. Although you fear having them but everyone has noticed that you like him." Meg's mom said and Meg opened her mouth and closed it horrified at the mom's revelation. Was it obvious that she liked Loyrane? She began biting her finger nails, a thing she did when she was confused and didn't know what to do. Meg ran from the kitchen and out the door not knowing where she was going but she just needed time to collect her thoughts and she most certainly was not heading to Loyrane's bot today because she didn't want her mom's question to become true. She ran not even bothering to see where she was heading and when she finally looked up, it was late because she fell on top of Loyrane and she froze. Loyrane had been wondering why Meg had not come yet so he decided to head out and go at her place to check if she was okay when the person he was looking for knocked him so they lost balance and fell down on the ground and Meg froze as soon as they fell and this had him wondering if something had happened to her. He lifted her up but she said nothing and he didn't question her and just helped her move until they arrived at his bot. Meg didn't even know why her legs brought her to Loyrane's bot instead of somewhere else. She wondered if kloan was to become her second home because she spent of her time there than middle heart her home village and this worried her asking herself if she would run to Loyrane after something happens and this made her drop her head so that her hair covered her face. Loyrane made Meg sit on the only seat he had in the room she always slept in when she was around and where she will most likely sleep today too since she looked like she needed sleep so much and so he told her to rest and then left for his room. Meg took longer than usual to sleep because the head was paining her from over thinking but she couldn't help it since this was the first time she liked someone and the feelings scared her. She slept thinking about what scared her the most. The feelings or the idea of getting rejected but with that in mind, she wandered off to dream land awaiting her fate in the morning. When the sun had just began to rise, Loyrane checked on Meg wondering why she was a mess yesterday. He tried searching his brain for something that could make her this way but came out with none. He woke her up later to have breakfast and to say it was awkward is an understatement and no one was willing to bring a conversation and Meg seemed lost in her thoughts. Meg just stared off in space after breakfast and she was so quiet which had never happened before and this worried Loyrane more so he told Meg he was heading out a bit and she just looked at him and he took it that he understood so he set out for middle heart. He arrived at noon and Meg's family was on the balcony waiting for their daughter to come but she didn't so when they saw Loyrane, they immediately started asking if he had seen her to which he replied with a yes and they sighed in relief. Loyrane asked them what had happened to Meg and no one replied for a moment and he thought they didn't hear him until her mom said that they spoke about some sensitive topic and that's how she ran out of the house and she stayed out all night and she went on saying that he should speak to her and then see if things will work out which made Loyrane more confused which he seemed to be most of the times since he came to earth. Meg didn't care if Loyrane had not yet come back yet it was noon and she honestly was grateful since she needed the space to think things through since she wanted to make a decision before he came back. By the time Loyrane had come back, she had decided to tell him how she feels but that all was forgotten when she saw him outside the barrier coming with Lily. She ran out of the bot hoping to make it before they enter and she was glad when she stepped out of the barrier the same time they arrived. She forced a smile when they looked at her and Loyrane could see the underlying question. He wanted to tell her that he wasn't going to bring Lily to the bot but decided against it and instead told her to join them and this time Meg smiled for real because Lily wouldn't get to know their secret place, the bot and she wanted it to remain that way. The truth is that she liked Loyrane but she didn't know if he liked her too which made her doubt the relationship between him and Lily. She thought that Lily had somehow managed to get Loyrane to like her that's why he had brought her to the bot and she shrank more when she noticed that she had been left behind while they were moving. She held back her tears which were almost falling but she couldn't for long so she turned back and ran to the bot leaving the two to their adventure. She remained there until night when Loyrane came in and she asked herself why she didn't go back home and her stomach was growling non stop yet she had no idea how to use Loyrane's kitchen. When Loyrane came out of his room, she expected him to ask her why she came back or why she was still here or maybe if she had eaten but he asked her a question she very much wanted to avoid. "Do you like me" he asked
