Chapter 10

EMMA POV:

The next day, I woke up excited because it was Friday.

That means two solid holidays are on the way. I got up from my bed, extended my arms, and stretched my body. I went towards the window and open the curtains. The weather was also very nice today.

I went to the bathroom and took shower. I chose a grey colored loose cotton pant with a white short-sleeved shirt. I paired them with white boots. I brushed my long hair and tied a cute bandana on my head.

After getting ready, I went downstairs. I entered the kitchen. I hugged dad and kissed mom on her cheek and sat down at the table.

Soon Noah and Mason also entered. We all eat our breakfast and head towards our destinations. I reached university and there was some time remaining for the lecture to begin. Soon the teacher came and we attended the lecture. The next classes pass by quickly and soon it was leaving time.

On the way to the bus station, an odd feeling seeped into me and a chill spread across my whole body. Again, I felt like someone was watching me. I don't know why I keep getting those weird feelings lately.

I looked around in alarm but found no one. Typically I found many passersby on the way on other days. But today it was eerily quiet. My heartbeat quickened and I increased my pace. I started taking long steps to reach the bus station as soon as possible. When I reached the station, there were a few people present.

I took a sigh of relief after watching them. At least, now I am not alone. Soon the bus came, I got on the bus and sat on the seat near the window. My fast heartbeat slows down to normal shortly after.

'Maybe, it's all because of my imagination' i mentally thought.

What I didn't know that it was not just my imagination.

I reached home and soon this thought left my mind. The next day I woke up quite late. I was relaxed because it was the weekend and no one tried to wake me up because they knew how much I love sleeping. I lazily got up and went to the bathroom and carried out my business.

The morning goes by quickly. In the evening, I was waiting for Jack to come as he has something important to tell me. But he never came.

I contacted him to ask about his whereabouts.

'Where are you man?' i messaged him.

'Sorry. I can not make it. I have to go on a work trip urgently' he replied.

'That's alright'. I texted him back.

The whole weekend passes in a blink of an eye and preparing myself for the coming week. Next week was the busiest one because after that final exams were coming.

I decided to study in the library after classes. Everything was usual except for the heavy mood vibes coming from the students because Exam time is the most difficult and crucial time in the life of every student.

Everyone was trying hard on their behalf. I was also planning on doing my best. As i already decided before, I made my way towards the library, I opened a book and start reading. Soon my whole concentration was on the book. What happened next was obvious because when you are not paying attention, it always leads to random incidents. I suddenly took a turn in the hallway and bumped into Josh who was coming from another side.

But all thanks to his fast reflexes and strong muscles, he pulled me towards him and prevent me from falling.

I was engulfed in his embrace. He was like a giant cuddly teddy bear. I looked up from his chest and I came face to face with his gorgeous face. Our faces were only a few inches away. I felt heat creeping to my cheeks. He was smiling at me and his sweet smile can melt anything in its path. Not sure about other things but it was surely melting me down.

'Ummm sorry.' i nervously said while stepping away from him.

'It's okay' he smiled.

'Where are you going?' he asked further.

'Just going to the library. Exams are just around the corner and I have not studied a little bit.' i said to him laughing slightly and showed him books in my hands.

'I can help you' he offered sweetly.

'No, I will try to manage myself.' i replied. I don't want to depend on others therefore I politely refused him. But he keeps on insisting. Finally, I agreed. We then move towards the library and he pulled out a chair for me to sit. Such a gentleman!

We sat across each other. I took out the book of calculus as it was the most difficult one. He starts to help me with that subject. He was not only beautiful but also smart in studies.

But you can guess what happens when campus famous boy, not to mention with his Greek God looks helps you in studies. There is no way to concentrate.

He starts solving a problem that I told him and I tried to pay attention to it. But soon my attention diverted. Instead of looking at the notebook. I was looking at his gorgeous face. Like seriously this man was the whole package that one can wish for.

I was immersed in my thoughts when he clicked his fingers to bring me back to reality.

'yeah yeah,' i tried to cover my staring.

He passed me the book where he solved the problem.

'Can you explain that again?' i asked sheepishly.

'Why not' he replied smiling.

Oh God, he is so sweet. This time I attentively heard him.

I did not know how much time had passed. He helped me a lot in my studies.

'That's enough for today.' i said while stretching my arms.

'ok, my lady'. He softly said.

My heart flutters again at his cheesy dialogue. I am sure he will be responsible for my heart disease.

We then got up and went out of the library. Many students were still studying. We head toward the parking lot and made our way home.

From now onwards till exams, Josh helped me in my studies regularly after classes. We started spending more time together in the library. We kind of became good friends. As usual one day, we were studying after class and making random jokes. Soon it was time to leave. He already helped me a lot, therefore I didn't want him to stay late for me.

'I will stay some more time. You can go' i told him.

He tried to deny but I resisted. I stood my ground and finally, he agreed. He smiled and said goodbye and went out of the library. Then I again engaged myself in studies.

I lost track of time. Only a few students were left in the library. I packed my stuff and went out of the building. It was quite late in the evening. Sun was also on the verge of setting. Darkness was starting to spread everywhere.

I went to the bus station hoping for the bus to be present. But soon my hopes crushed because the last bus also left a few minutes ago. I tried looking for a taxi but not even a single vehicle was passing this time. What should I do now? I thought to myself.
