CHAPTER 12

Cara POV “You have some nerve Cara,” he stared at the blood on his hands as those words left his mouth. I had lost all hope until… “Draven, Drav–”, hope surged through me as I saw a glimpse of Draven walking towards the exit of the hotel. I tried calling out to him but Tony's hand quickly covered my mouth, making my screams muffled. Tony covered my mouth tightly, his bloody hands firmly wrapped around my waist as he dragged me away from the reception area. I prayed to the moon goddess, Draven heard me. He gripped me tightly, too tight no matter how much I wiggled, swung my arms and legs, it didn't loosen. We passed the hallway and stood in front of a door. “Get off me. Leave me”. I screamed at him as he forced me into a luxurious suite, locked the door and took steps towards me. I clenched and unclenched my hands, my knife lying on the reception area floor, long forgotten. It must've fallen when Tony dragged me here. “You know nothing, do you? It doesn't matter. After I am done with you, no one will dare look down on me.” He smiled, slowly covering the distance between us. I took steps back until my body was a few inches from touching the wall. I raised my leg and attempted to kick his private part but he moved his body back, avoiding the hit. “You're delusional. I was never yours. Never will be”. “It doesn't matter. What matters is whose mark you bear tonight.” My heart raced as I thought of ways to escape. “Let's be reasonable about this, Tony. You don't even have feelings for me so marking me won't benefit you. Just let me go.” I told him softly as tears pricked my eyes. “I would have thought about it if you hadn't given me this scar”, he pointed at his cheek, groaning slightly. “f**k you, Cara.” “Just let me go and get treated.” I reasoned with him, hoping he would care for himself to do as I suggested. “So you don't know,” he said, chuckling. “You don't know that marking you can make me stronger. I never needed you Cara, I have always wanted your blood. Your bloodline...” He revealed, looking at me like he won a lottery. “My bloodline..what do you mean?” My parents never said anything about our bloodline. What did Tony mean by that? “What do you know about my bloodline, Tony?” A frown laid on my face as I narrowed my eyes to him. Not saying a word, he turned my body to the wall. My back facing his chest as he ran his nose from my neck down my shoulders. Fear curled low in my stomach. “Stop this Tony. You will regret this.” I screamed at him but he didn't reply. He tore my top revealing my bare shoulder, where he wanted to mark me and licked it slowly. Dragging his tongue from my neck to my shoulders, he continued his assaults, licking, using his teeth to graze the spot the mark should lay. I couldn't move. I froze on the spot, my mind blank as I thought back to my parents. I had no hopes for Draven coming to save me. If he was meant to, Tony won't have gotten this far. “Get off me, you bastard” I screamed, kicking at him from behind but all my screams and pleas fell on deaf ears. I felt him stop and suck in his breath, closing my eyes. I waited for the impact of his fangs on my shoulder but it never came. Instead I heard footsteps, heavy and sharp. A voice I thought I would never be grateful for welcomed my ears. “What the f**k?” Tony took a step back, as a breath I didn't know I held came out. My chest heaved rapidly. His fangs were still out as I saw him turn to the person, I followed too and tears swelled up, threatening to fall as my eyes confirmed who the person was. “What the actual f**k, Tony? Why the hell are you trying to mark my wife?” I had never been so grateful for anything as I was at this moment but I refused the tears from falling. “You think a piece of paper makes her yours? You know the tradition, Draven. She isn't, yours.” Tony uttered with confidence. I glanced at Draven and could see his eyes change slightly. His wolf was present. “Step away from her”. He said low and steady. I still hadn't moved from my position. My breath stuck in my throat as I watched what would happen next. Draven had never shown mercy before. Not when it mattered. “You don't have the right to–” Tony was slammed against the other end of the wall, so fast for the regular wolf to catch on. My hands covered my mouth as I saw the damage his body made to the wall. “I never thought you knew of it too. That's why you want her for yourself, right?” My brows frowned. What could Draven possibly know to want me? “What are you on about?” Draven frowned, taking steps closer until he was two feet away from Tony's body. “Your blabbering won't save you from me.” He held Tony by the neck, raised him up, his feet not touching the ground. Each second, Draven tightened his hold, the color slowly draining from Tony's face. But he only smiled. What had made him turn into a sick guy. He wasn't the same Tony I loved years ago. “Don't pretend like you don't know. Her bloodline. The power that comes with it when you get to mark her. You're many things Draven but you're not a pretender.” “Shut up. You're trying to shift the problem here, disgusting prick.” My ears heard every word Tony said. My bloodline. It didn't make sense. What was it about my bloodline for Tony to go feral. His attention turned to me “I am not a saint Cara, never had been but be careful about this one. He has many things he is hiding and if you knew, you would realize your biggest mistake was choosing him.” Before I could respond, Draven gave him a devastating punch. Tony's body slid down the floor, eyes closed and unmoving. “Cara…Cara are you hurt?” My mouth felt too dry to speak, I just nodded. I didn't notice when he came to my side. He carefully sat me down on the bed, slightly far from Tony's body. “What do you need, Cara?” He whispered softly, his eyes searching my face, his hands firmly placed on my shoulder drawing circles. “Abby.” My brain couldn't understand anything else. I missed Abby so much. I wanted to lean on him but I didn't need him now. Draven responded with a curt nod and dialled a number. I looked back to Tony's body and my mind wandered towards the things he said.
