The Application
NOAH
"The Green Eclipse is holding it's 2nd compatibility examination on the 14th of July. All Alphas shall proceed to the West wing and all Omegas shall be on the East. Unmated individuals shall not have any close contact inside the premises of the Eclipse building on the day of examination. Should you wish to participate, drop your applications before July 9th."
Posters and announcements of the same words are all over the town and it doesn't even make Noah feel the slightest joy. His friends have already signed up for sure and yet he's there at the rehabilitation center feeling like a complete experiment for different kinds of heating boosters may it be shots nor pills, nothing has worked on him. He doesn't really want to give up on the hope that he would soon be on his heat but it has already been two years from his supposed-date to be ready for mating and it's making him more anxious that he's not feeling any signs of it coming this year.
"Oh, c'mon. Don't be so gloomy, man." His friend Elijah, who is a beta, nudged his side. "Stop it with the long face. You'll get there, you're just a little late." He added. Well good for him, he's a beta. He doesn't go through heat and he's most likely the most normal among all of them. If Noah had a choice, he would rather be beta than an Omega who doesn't even feel like an omega at all. He let out a sigh as they went out of the center, they were meeting his other friends at the coffee shop today since they have all dropped their applications already and assumed this would be the last day they could hangout because they're expecting their first wave of heat coming soon and they shall be deployed to their heating nests in a few days.
"You should still take the examination, Noah. I mean, who knows you might actually have your first heat soon." Marcus, who has been happily married to Elle, said. The two met through this platform, with the examination's 85% accuracy to match mates, a lot has really testified that it's working which urged almost all alpha and omega alike to participate.
"I wouldn't wanna repeat what happened to me the last time. The alpha I got paired with was really disappointed and pissed that I was an incapable omega. He left me in the cabin alone. I can't go through that again." He was indeed traumatized by that. At the very least, he was thankful that the alpha did not force himself on him and just left instead.
"For sure there is no one like him anymore.. Just... try. Contact Elijah if anything goes wrong." Zef was the one who encouraged him this time. He's an omega like himself yet he hasn't found his mate yet so he's trying it out this time again. Elijah nodded at the side, more than willing to help his friend in need if something like that happens again.
"I'm not from the best tier of the omegas, Zef.. No Alpha would want me.." Noah said, obviously discouraged. The Alpha, Beta, and Omega are classified in different tiers. Those that have been through the program for more than one time are being rated by the Alpha who has been with them through their heat season and it goes the same with omegas rating their alphas. Those that received great rates are on the first tier, those that are good enough are on the second , while those that are like him who got an alpha disappointed is definitely at the bottom of the list.
"One last time, please. Just one last time. For sure your alpha would understand. You can indicate it on your description at the compatibility test." He could tell Zef really wanted him to go. He can't really keep saying no to his friend, gnawing on his lip Noah finally nodded his head. "Fine... Just.. one more time.."
Noah dropped his application.
ATTICUS
He is the only son of the present generation of the Imre bloodline. His omega mother had trouble with bearing a child which results to him being the only child in the family just like his father. He grew up pampered, learning how to be a strong Alpha from his father and educating himself with the omega needs from his mother. "You're ready." Those words stopped his train of thoughts, he looked at his mother then back to the application paper he's filling up with his details. "Yeah.. I think I am." Atticus reached the age of twenty-two, it's mandatory for Alphas his age to participate in this program. Whilst coming from an elite family, he's not an exemption.
"Apply what you've learned from me to the omega you're going to be with. I tell you, it's gonna be unbearable and you might lose control..." His mother said kindly. Folding his application neatly and handing it over to the butler to drop it off at the Eclipse building. "...but always remember what I told you." He nodded, he's got everything engraved in his head. Always be patient and don't let the Omega think he'd hurt him if he does something wrong. His Alpha father used to tell him that he shouldn't let any omega see his soft side but his mother would always counter that it's alright.
His mother left his room not too long after that. "How do you feel about this, Mr. Imre?" His beta butler asked and Atticus could almost snort that he's being too formal. "Stop that." He said in a warning tone and shook his head. "I don't know. Should I feel excited?" He asked, looking at the beta. "I think you should. A lot of omegas are anticipating to be paired up with you wondering how you're gonna pamper them during their heat." That little information makes him feel a bit more pressure. He wouldn't want to disappoint his parents nor would he want to disappoint he omega he's going to be with.
He too dropped his application that same day.
