TWENTY-TWO A jolt shook Justice awake and she sat up. She was still in the front seat of the four-wheel-drive, with Isaac at the wheel. He glanced over at her. ‘Sorry. This stretch is bumpy. Lots of holes. Hard to avoid them all.’ She smiled at him. ‘It’s fine, I’ve slept long enough.’ ‘Wish I could say the same for the rest of them.’ He indicated in the back seat where a sonorous snore was coming from either Brother Owen or the two mercenaries. All three were fast asleep, the jolting of the vehicle showing no signs of waking them soon.
