CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR The Price of Indiscretion Jonathan waited until evening after supper before making his move. Since removing his wife from William Addison’s home, he’d spend his day determining how he’d deal with the regretful circumstances that put her into that man’s hands. He found her in their bedroom, undressing. Although it was still early, she’d sounded tired, saying as she excused herself from the parlor and his company how much she needed sleep.
