CHAPTER 22: Rising (Part 1)
For the first time in a long while, Axel didn’t immediately try and kill everyone around him when he woke up. He opened his eyes while still lying on the ground. He felt different. Filled with pain, yet at the same time, relieved. It was a strange feeling. “Axel?” A voice said from the edge of the ruined house. He immediately turned and noticed it was Luna. She was sitting on a broken table next to a window. “Wh-” He looked around and examined his surroundings. He was still in his old house. Outside, the rain had stopped and the sky was beginning to clear up. It was much less dark than before, but sunrise hadn’t happened yet. The Core was completely silent, dead.
