CHAPTER 2 - Boy with the dark brown hair

1006 Words
After my daily routine of taking a stroll to Starbucks and drinking way too much tea, this tall stranger walks in. The boy with the brown hair I call him. He has chin-length hair, caramel-colored skin, he's no bodybuilder but he's got a muscular figure, he had such cat-like eyes and a warm smile with straight teeth. I love how he's dressed, cream cuffed chino with a black v-neck t-shirt sculping his beautiful muscles. The look is finished off with white trainers I can't see the name of, but they look good on him. As I am taking in everything about this boy, memorizing everything about him before I never see him again I am pulled from my thoughts when this boy looks at me. My cheeks flush and I look away "did he see that?!" I ask myself but he answered my question by walking over to the table where my things are scattered. With his cat-like eyes and warm smile- "he has a dimple, that wasn't in my analysis" I accidentally say with my words and not in my mind. "Analysis?" He asks and chuckles but looks at me with curiosity evident in his greenish-brown cat-like eyes. I bring my hands to my face "Oh God." I say into my hands heavily embarrassed, "I am going to leave now before I say something else" he smiles, "noooo we just met and you're already leaving, what analysis though? Did you just analyze me as I was buying coffee?" He says with an amused expression, "I did I'm sorry, I take notes of things I like and people I see" I manage to confess "may I see my analysis?" The horror!!, but I give him the book anyway. As he's reading my analysis I'm thinking up ways to avoid him like the plague and never show my face outside again, Goodbye Starbucks. He's looking at me with a bright smile and those eyes are smiling along with him. I'm confused. Is he not mad?? "Are you not mad??" I ask anxiously confused "The boy with the brown hair's name is Miles actually, Miles Ross, and Im very amused." He says with a smile, I'm still confused. "I'm Avalon Wilson, still very confused" he chuckles "don't be, I liked it. It's interesting." I am relieved until he starts writing in my book "W-what are you writing?" Anxious to know what the boy- I mean, Miles is writing. He looks up and says "it's important okay, you can't read it yet though, you have to read it when you get home" he seems serious so I nod and wait for him to finish. He looks up at me a couple of times before saying "done, and to make sure you don't read it before you get home, I'm walking with you." I don't know if that's a good idea but I let him walk me home, it's about 4 in the afternoon, normally it takes me about 10 minutes to get home but this time was different, this time I walked like half an hour because of a certain someone. We talked, got to know each other and he is so impressive, he's studying law, plays football, he's intelligent, his eyes light up when he talks about his accomplishments "your parents must be so proud of you" he sighs "I wish" he forces out a laugh. Me and my big mouth. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to upset you-," he stops me by saying " no it's not you I swear, it's them, my parents nothing I do is good enough." I just met him and he tells me this, I'm honored "well when you think about it like really think about it, you'll see that they'll never be satisfied so why not just live for yourself instead of trying to live up to what they want for you? It'll make you happy and spare your sanity." Believe me, I know. "Speaking from experience?" He says looking at me intrigued "Yes definitely, my parents are like that, and ever since we found out about cancer they've been so cold and distant as if I caused it." He stops in his tracks "you have cancer?" s**t! my mind screams. "Yeah, stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer" great, just great. " he looks at me with sympathetic eyes and I can't take it, so I take my book from him and carry on walking. He follows and says "I'm sorry you have to go through this " one too many times, "thank you" I manage to say as I rush into the yard and the house. I rush upstairs and have a whole breakdown because of the "I'm sorry's" "unfortunately sorry doesn't cure cancer now does it," I say through my tears. After an hour of crying I remember the notebook that he wrote in, he titled the passage "Avalon Wilson's Analysis: She has shoulder-length light brown hair in waves, a pale caramel-colored complexion, these big bright brown eyes, with curiosity behind them. Further down there's a small nose with a cute mole right next to it, perfectly sculpted cheeks and lips She's fairly skinny but curved. Almost as if her body wasn't meant to be skinny. She has a perfect smile, small feet, even smaller hands a slight dimple on her right cheek, and one under her bottom lip corner when she laughs and smiles. She is utterly breathtaking. I cannot believe he wrote that about me... ME! I look around the room to try and find a hidden camera but there is none. "This guy is smooth," I say with half a laugh and a cry. At the bottom, it says P. S 555-01-234 Miles, Ross. I grab my phone and add his number. "This isn't happening, this is not happening, Bro, this is just not happening," I say into my pillow. The number is in but... When do I send a message? my subconscious asks me. "Good question, let's wait until tonight after dinner, maybe he's busy right now".
