Chapter 5 The sun’s rays felt like the dull tips of one hundred needles pelting against a sleeping Eureka’s eyelids. She stirred awake. First, wiping the scum from out of her eyes and then sitting up. She yawned and smacked her lips coming from out of her slumber. Stretching her arms, she heard her bones readjusting and her back cracking into place. Eureka looked ahead just in time to see the sign ‘Welcome to Oakland’. About a half an hour later, the bus pulled into the Greyhound station. She gathered her bags and hustled off of the bus. The first thing she did was call Malvo to let him know that she’d made it to The Bay. The line rang twice before he answered. “Speak on it,” he came on the line. “I made it,” she replied. He disconnected the call. “Mothafucka,” she said of his rudeness
