Emily pov

I walk back into the play room and relief washes over me as i see my two loves running around playing with their new friend Lilly.

Kate smiles at me when she notices me. " how did it go?"

she asks ". It went OK. I was granted a 14 day pass from the Alpha. How are they? They weren't any trouble, were they?

She shook her head. "No, they are beautiful children. Drew told me he is 4 and his sister is almost 2?" I smiled at Drew. He has such a kind heart and a people person. 'Yes, that's true, how old is your Lilly?: I'm freeeee" yells the little energy ball from across the room.

Both Kate and I started laughing. She motioned for me to sit down with her. Her face turned serious. "Drew also mentioned his dad was in heaven... I'm so sorry", I nodded my head sadly.

'We were high school sweethearts and married young. our may was just a few months old when he passed' i look at my baby, i smile sadly as she tucks in a doll into a make shift bed.

Jason walks into the room , he gives a quick kiss to kate on the cheek before lilly jumps up and down for her daddy to pick her up.

'Daddy daddy my new friends stay with us?'

Jason smiles ' yes flower, they will stay here at the pack house for a couple of weeks'. She smiles and claps her hands. Jason puts her down. She runs back to join drew building a tower out of blocks.

I have an omega coming to watch all 3 children. David wants us to give you a quick tour of the pack house". I just nodded.

what are omega? I ask clarissa

They are low-ranking wolves. They usually work in the packhouse cooking, cleaning, nannies for, ranked wolves and maintaining the gardens, ect she explains.

A few minutes later, a lady enters the room and bows her head slightly. Kate gives her a small hug

"Emily. This is Irene. She is one of the nursery staff. She is usually around to help with the children at the pack house" .

"Hello dear", she greets me. She reminded me of my aunt Penny and felt relaxed right away.

"Emily, let's go show you around" she. said I turned to May and Drew.

"alright, mummy will be back soon". I kissed my two loves.

We leave kate is already talking my ear off, she is very loveable, she is trying to make me feel comfortable. ' so this floor ,is our floor and beta ryders, his room is down the end on the left, you will meet him later, he is at another pack dealing with some issues. Im told you will be staying on this floor with us, down the end to the right, but we will show you the room later and let you get settled.

I can smell this amazing scent, it's faint. Someone here likes baking. I can feel my wolf stir but I'm not sure why.

We go down the stairs as she continues, "on the main floor is the pack kitchen, dining rooms, theatre room and rec room, we also have a separate gym and training ground to the back of the pack house'.

Once we made it to the 1st floor, she started showing me the rooms. I didn't notice when i first arrived, but wow, this place is... wow. There are 4 double-sized fridges/freezers in this kitchen, 2-pantries and a huge amount of space. I love it!

I won't tell them now, but i love to bake. I hope I get the chance to use this kitchen while I'm here.

There are 2 'dining rooms'. Only 1 actually looks like a dining room with a long table, the other looks more like a ball room. Kate explained that it is used when feeding the whole pack of 350 wolves or when they host other packs. She said they also host outside a lot,. Since we are wolves, I guess that makes sense, nature and what not.

Speaking of wolves, mine is going crazy in my head, making it harder to concentrate. She is pacing and panting.

What's up Clarissa?

I ask as we are walking towards the rec room and theatre. All of a sudden, there was an overwhelming smell in the air like apple crumble and warm custard, my favorite dessert. I feel a strange energy. What is that?

Before I even know what is happening, I am pinned up against a wall with my feet off the ground. This strange man has me pinned his mouth to my neck. No, him? Not again!! How could he have found me, my kids!!?

I feel a surge of energy inside myself.

I pushed him back slightly and punched upwards towards his face. My punch pushed his right arm up, not only did it release me from his grip. But I managed to land my punch on his jaw. How did I do that, I ask myself. I've never hit anyone in my life.

I sprint as fast as i can up the stairs to protect my children.

David pov

I yawn, these profit reports from all of our businesses are making my eyes tired.

They may be boring, but securing the packs'financial future is important. It's our responsibility to take care of everyone now.

I know that Dexter, ive just always found this to be the hardest part of being a alpha, all the paperwork.

crash!! "No stop! " bang

What the hell is that? I leave my office at a run.

its coming from the first floor, said dexter

I decided to take the stairs rather than wait for the elevator. As I'm descending to the 4th floor, I thought i saw something move. I briefly stopped to take a look, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary. I got to check down the hall..

"growwwll" bang

was that ryder? I keep running down the stairs. As I reached the bottom, I see one of the warriors being thrown into a wall.

in my alpha voice, I yell

WHAT IS GOING ON HERE!?!?!
