CHAPTER TWO

“ I love keeping promises”.
Stephanie spent some days before she could decide on Grandma’s Tia offer . Now that she’s made up her mind, she wasn’t going to back out.
There was nothing Aaron would say that would made her change her mind at that point. They talked more for a while and Stephanie couldn’t get her eyes off his attractive figure, it made no sense he couldn’t get a decent girl.
Once they were done talking and fed Grandma Tia her dinner, Aaron took out s bunch of keys from his pocket and gave them to Stephanie.
He said“ The house I bought is on Gatewood Ave. Grandma Tia told me you live around George st. My place isn’t too far from the office. It will take around 12 minutes by bus”.
“ Do you have a driver’s license?”. If you do I can get you a car and help you with the down payment but you’ll handle the monthly payment after on. I think that would be easier for you to transport yourself to work.
“ Oh, don’t worry about the car I’ve got mine and I can find my way to work.” Stephanie replied to him, cutting short his long speech.
Aaron frowned his face, apparently he wasn’t too pleased with that.
“ I can get very busy at work so you won’t see me much, There will be projects trips that I have to take but don’t mind me just look after yourself. And also wire some monthly upkeep for you and other household expenses on the 5th of every month when salary comes out”.
Stephanie nodded , while Aaron scratched his chin trying to remember something.
“ One more thing. For comfort sake please let’s keep our relationship a secret for the time being”.
Stephanie knew Aaron would have held a high rank at the office because he talked on and on and didn’t let her speak. Stephanie only said yes because she knew Grandma Tia wouldn’t recommend someone that’s bad for her and also she didn’t have anybody in her at that moment and her friends have been on her neck to get a man. To her it was only a relationship of convenience.
With Aaron handling her the keys to the house which she hesitated before accepting.
“ Um….. Mr Hamilton, but I just paid my rent and it doesn’t expire till next month, so can I move in after my rent expires?”. Stephanie searched for Aaron’s face for an answer but he just kept staring at her looking defeated.
“ Also, are we going to split the bills, since we both work, I don’t think it fair if you handle it all alone?”.
Aaron pressed his lower lips together, he wasn’t expecting those questions and it caught it off guard totally. But being a smart man he quickly thought of something.
“ I have the means to support my Girlfriend, no need to share the costs and you can move in immediately. You shouldn’t bother about your rent. I’ll handle everything”.
Stephanie smiled “ Alright then”.
Stephanie was decent enough to know, she wasn’t supposed to freeload without any contribution. And she planned to pay for whatever was needed in the house without telling Aaron, she was already saving on rent anyways.
Stephanie's mother had always told her it was all about give- and - take along with mutual understanding to live together in peace.
Aaron lifted up his arm to check the time before saying to Stephanie, “ I need to get going. Are you here with your car or you can take a cab I'll reimburse the fare.”
“That reminds me, lets exchange contacts incase we need to reach one another.”
Stephanie brought her phone and saved his contact.“ I drove here in my car. Don't worry about me. You can leave.”
“ Okay, call me if you need me.” And with that Aaron got out of the room, leaving Stephanie behind. Grandma Tia was already asleep, so Stephanie made sure vitals were okay before she finally left also.

After driving for ten minutes, Aaron pulled over at an intersection.
There were a number of luxury sedans parked there and one of them was a Rolls Royce.
Aaron pulled up by the road and got down from the car before tossing the keys to a bodyguard that was standing there. “ Take the car to my Villa clean it up and wait for my call.” He instructed.
He got into the Rolls Royce, and the driver drove off in the luxury sedan.
Aaron was a big investor of Columbus corporate world. He is the successor to the richest family in Columbus with a met worth of over hundred billion dollars.
Aaron's phone rang, and he turned his head to check the caller. It was Grandma Tia. He hesitated before answering the phone.
“ Yes Gran.” He said without waiting for her to talk.
“ You shouldn’t ditch Stephanie, no matter how busy you are. She’s a good girl and I’m sure I made the right choice for you.” Grandma Tia said at the other end of the phone.
“ I won’t be making the relationship official if she doesn’t pass my test.” Aaron replied her.
Grandma Tia continued,“ Divorce isn’t an option in our family!”.
“ Well that depends whether you’ve picked a woman worth spending the rest of my life with.” Aaron remarked , signaling to his driver to reduce his speed.
Grandma Tia knew that since Aaron had listened to her by starting a relationship with Stephanie , it would be difficult for him to comply with her on other matters, besides she doesn’t want to push Aaron too far so he wouldn’t take it out on Stephanie and she would be a victim in all of this.
Aaron already knew Grandma Tia would keep coming at him if he mistreated Stephanie . But he would make her happy if she deserved it. And if she was putting a show for Grandma Tia he’s going to break up and Stephanie would move on with her life as she was still young and could still get another man.
Stephanie phone rang as immediately she parked her car at her driveway.
Without getting out of the Mini Cooper she answered the call.
“Grandma Tia, you’re awake?”. She said abruptly.
“ Yes dear, I’m awake and thank you for stopping by to check on me.”
“ We’re a family now, Stephanie. Tell me if Aaron ever picks on you . I’ll always have your back.” The old lady said assuredly .
“ Thank you Grandma.” Stephanie sounded .
“ You’re in a relationship with Aaron now , I’m I still Grandma Tia to you?”.
Stephanie was silent for a while before calling her Gran.
The old lady happily accepted her new title and was happy that finally she got her grandson a woman.
