Chapter 15Four years went by with little major change. Contracts were worked out and campaigns undertaken. Troy certainly didn’t win every battle, or even every campaign, but he won far more often than anyone else, and as a result his Company was in high demand. As was usual for Troy’s Company they would set up a short ride away from the local town, rather than right beside it, and go straight to work.
Gen’s efforts with the Company continued to pass unnoticed. If he was quietly preventing the men from talking about his wizardry he never said so, and Troy was careful not to ask. Likewise, he and Markus made, he thought, the best command pair of all the companies.
