Chapter 10

1866 Words
Alina POV: Ever since I heard Lucas call me Lynna, I have been very cautious and careful around him. His odd ways were causing me to be suspicious of him and I felt like he was hiding something from me. I just couldn’t trust him. He assured me that he was only here to help, but I got bad vibes from him. I couldn’t believe I didn’t stop to notice how his mere presence gave me shivering chills Not in a scary or terrified way, but in a weird way, as if he was someone I wasn’t scared of but at the same time, he was someone I didn’t know how to react to. I was set in a trance for hours, just trying to think this situation through. I continued to wonder if my decision to leave Tristan was actually the right option for me. I hadn’t seen him in almost a week now, I’d never went this long without seeing him…except for the time when he left for London. I exhaled heavily as I got up from the couch and walked around this huge place. I didn’t ask for any tour, so I had no clue where I was headed. Walking cluelessly, I almost ran into a wall, before someone grabbed my waist and pulled me back to a hard chest. I gasped and turned my head back to face a concerned Lucas. His grip on my waist was soft but firm. I immediately squirmed out of his hold and turned to face him fully. ”Don’t touch me like that.” I warned him with my index finger, poking his chest hardly with it. He moved back a little and raised his hands up to stop me. “Alright…..I‘m sorry. Just….watch where you’re going alright?” He said. I gulped, nodding slowly and picking up my feet. I could hear his footsteps behind me. ”Mind telling me where the guest room is?” I asked him. ”Follow me.” Lucas said. I stopped and let him lead the way, following behind him. I had already seen about two stairwells already, and we had went up one of them on the right after turning down onto another hallway. My feet skipped up the stairs, taking two to three at a time to keep up with him. This man walked fast. After I got up the what?….hundredth step?….I was out of breath, holding my knees. Never have I ever got a good workout from stairs. ”Are you okay?” He turned back and asked me, about to hold out his hand but I glared and he brought it back. ”I‘m fine….” I said grumpily. He furrowed his brows. “You don’t look fine.” I sighed and exhaled, “ Just walk slow, I can’t keep up with you like this…” He nodded and turned back, proceeding to walk but slower. I forced myself to put more energy into my being and proceeded to follow him. After a while, we made it to a hall full of bedrooms that were already opened. “Pick one….” Lucas told me. I looked at him, a little shocked. “Really?” I asked. He nodded with a small smile. “Pick whichever one you want. Hell, pick all of them if you want.” I rolled my eyes, refraining a small smile from appearing on my face as I looked back at each and every one of them. After looking through them all, I picked the second to the left. It was a beautiful bedroom. ”I like this one….although it doesn’t have a bookshelf like the other one.” I said out loud. ”Well, there is a library here whenever you feel like reading.“ He told me. “Oh, cool.” I said absent-mindedly and walked inside the room. Making myself comfortable on the bed, I looked back to see Lucas outside the room, his hands in his front pockets as he looked at me intently. I gulped again, looking away. “You can go.” I said shyly and hid myself under the covers. ”Sure, see you later….Alina.” He said and I heard his footsteps moving down the stairs. The moment he did, I got up and closed the door, locking it and going back to the bed. Getting back under the covers, I sighed heavily and closed my eyes. Sleep instantly came to me as I was already exhausted since I left Tristan’s mansion. I fell into an endless slumber of Pitch black darkness, until the nightmares of my past came running through. ************* After hours, I woke up sweating and gasping for air as I looked around the room. I didn’t recognize where I was, my face was scrunched up into confusion as I looked back and forth. Then I remembered everything and laid my head back on the pillow, a tear falling down my cheek. Somehow, I was having nightmares again. They had stopped when I met Tristan, I slept peacefully despite mostly being restless or in complete agony. But here, there was nothing to protect me or fight off the bad dreams I have the moment I closed my eyes. Despite being far away from home, I felt the opposite of protected and secure. I felt open and unsafe. I felt alone. Alone in this all by myself despite Lucas being here. I looked down and pulled my shirt up a little to reveal my stomach. I hadn’t been really nauseous, but the moment I laid my hand on my stomach, I instantly got up and looked around for the bathroom. My hand clutched my stomach softly while the other held my mouth closed. I was facing those pregnancy symptoms that felt like hell. I found another door somewhere in the room and opened it, revealing a nice bathroom. The moment I got to the bathroom, I threw up the breakfast I had earlier. After almost ten minutes of puking, I got up off the floor, drained of energy. I felt like complete s**t. Life was a b***h. But I deserved this. Flushing the toilet, I removed my clothes and walked inside the shower. Turning it on, I rinsed my body and cleaned it. My eyes shut and I laid my body down on the floor of it as the water sprinkled on my face and my body. I didn’t realize when I started crying again, until I snapped back into my senses and heard a loud sound. Sniffling, I turned the shower off and got out, wrapping a big fluffy brown towel around me that I found hanging on a nearby rack. Opening the door to the bathroom, I walked to the door of the bedroom and unlocked it. Opening it up, I saw Lucas on the other side. He looked at me with a worried expression, but then was taken aback a little when he saw me only in a towel. ”Uh….I heard something….? Are you alright?” He asked me, a little nervous. I held my breath, nodding but he didn’t seem convinced. I spoke. “I‘m alright….I just took a shower.” ”Were you….throwing up?” He asked me. I nodded. “It’s the pregnancy symptoms, I’m completely fine.” ”Are you hungry again?” I was feeling a little hungry, but I knew if I ate then I would just throw it all up again, besides I didn’t want to feel like that. Avoiding it was better. ”No thank you. At least not right now, but thanks for asking. Now, I would like to get dressed.” I said. He looked at me one more time before nodding. “By all means, just let me know if you need anything.” he said before walking away. I closed the door again, not bothering to lock it this time. Walking around the room, I totally forgot where he put my luggage at. I groaned out of frustration and opened the door, walking down the stairs while holding my towel around my body tightly. Looking around for him, I couldn’t find him. “Uhm….Lu….Lucas?” I called. I got no response. I continued to walk down and turned through a corridor. I opened up door after door and found him in none of them. After a while, I sighed and gave up. I walked back up the stairs and decided I was going to stay in the room until I found my luggage, but ran into him while doing so. ”Hey….? What are you doing out and around in a towel?” He asked me. I internally rolled my eyes. “I couldn’t find my suitcase with all my clothes. I was looking for you to ask where it was.” I told him. He swallowed as he looked at me, his eyes going lower to my chest and then to my legs. I felt self-conscious and fisted the ends of the towel a little tighter. ”Uh….Here.” He said and walked somewhere, I followed him. He walked inside a room where I saw both my suitcases and my purse.  I grabbed them both and thanked him before walking out and practically running back to the room and shutting it closed. I opened the suitcase and put on a pair of loose jeans with a sweatshirt. I slipped on a pair of beige strapped sandals and tied my hair in a ponytail with one of my white scrunchies. After dressing, I zipped back up the suitcase and grabbed my phone, sitting down on the bed. Just before I decided to turn it back on, my consciousness warned me what could happen if I did. I would be in risk of him finding me. Not that I really didn’t want him to, because I missed him like hell. But then my point to leave him in the first place would be for no reason if he ended up finding me so soon. So I threw the phone on the bed and stomped out of the room, annoyed and drained of energy. Just as I was stomping out of the room, I almost collided with Lucas. What was with him and I encountering so many times today? But this time, I noticed something different about him. Maybe it was because he was so close to me….? ”Your…..eyes?” I said, looking intently with a weird expression. TO BE CONTINUED…..   How was today’s chapter my dearest readers?
