chapter 5 homecoming

Before I knew it was homecoming and I was so excited. The nerves I was having were new to me. I wasn't sure what to do or think. First major dance and with my new boyfriend. I couldn't believe it. I got out of my room and my mom was already awake with breakfast ready. She gave me a hug then ask" how are you feeling maria? today is a big day for you sweetie." She put the plate on the table and I sat down and smiled. "I'm very excited and nervous mom. It's my first homecoming dance. I'm worried about what dad will say to Brad. What if he scares him away? That'd be worse and make me look like a fool." I sighed after and started eating breakfast and got lost in my own thoughts and head. I didn't hear my mom when she started talking to me but I heard this part of what she was saying. "maria honey your father and I are protective of you. but if Brad gets scared and drops you like that cause of a chat with your father. Then he's not worthy of yog my darling." Tears fell down my cheeks and I hugged her. "Thanks mom I love you guys so much". After breakfast I went back to my room and sat on the bed and listened to music while petting my cat and writing.

I fell asleep for an hour and mom told me to get ready cause it was time for me to go get my hair done. so I get ready and we leave to go to the salon. I put in my ear buds to listen to music to calm down and relax. when we get there I go in and tell them what I'd like and I'm happy with what they do to my hair. I feel like a princess with all these preparations. after an hour I'm ready to leave. we go to my grandma's house to finish getting ready and for pictures. this is when the nerves get back up there.
