Sophia's POV
My palms felt sweaty with the new information that I was fed with and I decided to be on my knees for the man to let me go. I couldn't rigidly accept the man showing up in front of me when I knew what kind of being he was.
He is death, himself!
“I…I didn't know…” I was saying but Selina beat me to it. “Please, let us live!” she yelled, bowing her head in 90° and I knew that was the same thing that I should be doing but I don't know why I kept staring at him.
It was like I was trying to get his face imprinted in my brain maybe because I was sure that was going to be the last time we would be seeing each other.
“Really? I should spare you? Are you not the one that was trying to jump just now? Then what is with the change of mind?” he asked, winking at me and I shivered at his actions.
Now looking at me well I just noticed the hanging darkness around him and there was no doubt that he was just as he was rumored or even more dangerous.
“What? I wasn't trying to kill myself I am just playing some pranks with my sister and nothing more,” Selina says but I already have enough of her so I decided to drag her away from the evil eyes of the man but only if I knew that I was going to be stopped.
“Where are you going, Miss…” I didn't get that part very well,” he said, trying to get my name as he walked closer to me and I stepped back in fright.
“I am not going anywhere, I am just here,” I said, avoiding his eyes because there was no way I was telling him my name.
“You are really hiding your name, interesting it makes me want you even more,” he says and I was terrified hearing that.
I thought I only needed to take care of Diana and Darren in this life but it looks like I have more things to do.
Because how am I going to escape this man's grip?
“But what can you do? You can't get out of my grip again? What belongs to me stays mine no matter what,” he says and my legs shook hearing his words.
I was dumbfounded by what the man said and I don't know if I should be running away in fright but I decided to stand my ground.
Even though I do not remember this event playing out in my past life I should still be able to handle it well. I knew I had to take drastic action if I wanted to get out of the man's hold and that's when my mate's bond with Darren came in handy.
“I..think there is,” I was about to say but my words were suspended.
I heard his phone beep and he got away from me and I breathed out in relief and I watched him pick up his phone. “Ok, I will be there,” he said, hanging up his phone and he looked at me with a smile that creeped me out but I decided to stay calm.
“Looks like this is going to be my goodbye,” he says, winking at me and before I could understand what was going on the man flew away from the rooftop.
Did he fly away? Can wolves fly that?
‘He is cool!’ Elsa purred…
I and Selina watched as the man fled the roof and we both slumped down in fear at the sight but none of us said anything for the longest time as we just looked into space and wondered if what we just witnessed was it.
“Where did you meet a monster like that? Why did you have to be such a troublemaker?” Selina yelled, and I scoffed.
“What! Troublemaker? Don't you think you are the one that got us here in the first place,” I say glaring at her and she scurried away from the floor while muttering curses but I do not bother with her.
I wondered how the man was able to find me on the rooftop today or was it just a coincidence? I hoped that it was just a coincidence because if it wasn't then running away from him was not going to be easy.
“Did you want to jump again or we should go back home?” I asked glaring at her and she hissed walking away in anger and I followed her as I looked behind me in fear to be sure the man was not following us.
I got back home and I sternly warned Selina not to tell anyone about what happened that day and she promised not to do that but I could tell that she was also frozen with fear which I was sure that she wouldn't dare tell me.
I rushed into my room and I started ransacking my cabinet looking for a particular magazine where he was interviewed once and I was lucky after I found it in one of my drawers and I quickly decided to read it.
“Even though I wasn't interested about him in my past life, it's time to get to know him in my present life seeing how we are both entangled,” I mumbled as I scaled through the magazine trying to look for the page but a knock on my door interrupted my actions and I was called out by the maid that says someone was looking for me.
“Who could be looking for me in this critical time?” I mumbled and I rushed out but I was surprised to find out the person sitting on the couch in the living room waiting for me.
It was him! How dare he show up in my house?
“What are you doing in my house? Who gave you the permission to even dare sit down!” I yelled, walking furiously to his side and I did not know why even the sight of him offended me.
“I am here to court you,” he says and my eyes widen hearing what he just said. “What! You are here to court me? Are you out of your mind?” I flared and I was ready to throw him out of the house but I didn't want my actions to look weird and also people would not suspect me of anything.
“You are my mate and it's only right we…” he was saying and I scoffed hearing his words. “What? On whose orders is that? Who gave you the permission to think like that?” I asked.
“Me? I permitted him so did you hand anything more you have to say?” he asked and I turned to see my father glaring daggers at me.
“Dad? Did you give him permission? But this is not…” I was about to say but I trailed off. I could remember very well that my father wasn't fond of Darren in my past life because he said he was a man who made up excuses to not take responsibility so what's going on?
Why does he like him and give him his approval?
Why is everything changing from how it played out before? Why was the situation different from my past life?
Is the moon goddess playing a trick on me?
