Chapter 4 A Potential To Be Devil's Luna

Sophia's POV

I looked at the man that made my life miserable and made me wish for a second life desperately at the brink of death and I wasn't surprised to run into him because I knew that I might not be able to change the events of what happened in our past life but I would be sure to change this.

“Mate? We are mates?” I heard him ask but I sensed that there was something wrong with his tone this time around. In our past life, he was filled with irritation but now his voice was filled with amusement which was suspicious.

‘What a jerk! Why is he acting amazed? Does he want to make us suffer again?’ Elsa fired but I just looked at him rather blankly.

“Yeah, so what? I am waiting for you to reject me, it's better to do that now or you might not get a chance again,” I say walking closer to him I was doing that to get him irritated only if I knew that was going to backfire on me.

I was sure that he was going to jump at the offer because Diana was already in the picture so I was expecting him to jump on the offer.

“What are you saying? I am definitely sticking up for you and not letting go,” he says walking closer to me and he hugged me to his body like I was his long-lost lover but I get irritated with that.

“Let go of me right now!” I yelled, and u pushed him off and I saw that my actions cut him by surprise only if he knew that his life was about to be full of surprises.

“What is going on? Are you not happy that we are mates?” he asked and I chuckled hearing what he just said.

“I think you are mistaken, sir, I don't think you are my mate because I already have a mate,” I say through gritted teeth and I almost went for his neck but I calmed myself.

“What! That's not true and if that's why did you not have a mark?” he asked and I snarled at his question.

‘How dare you ask me that when you put off marking me for two years, you jerk!’ I mulled in my head but a smile was still plastered on my lips.

“That is because my mate is an unruly young man who doesn't stick to the rules and he doesn't see a reason in marking his mate.. he believes it's an old tradition,” I say walking away while leaving him dumbfounded.

I used the lies he used to tell me on him and that expression on his face was enough to lift my mood. Only if he knew that I was his nemesis would he won't want me.

I left the balcony because I was so annoyed about how everything was playing out. Why is Darren head over heels for me? Didn't he hate the sight of me before? Why does he look so interested now? I wondered and I decided to leave the party while not waiting for my father.

I walked towards the car outside but I felt an intense gaze boring into my back and I wondered what was going on and I turned around but I was surprised to find nothing.

“Maybe it's just me being paranoid after running into that man,” I say and I hissed in frustration as I entered the car.

The next morning came and I was glad that I woke up still in my body and I rushed down from the bed to continue my search about some unusual things that can occur when you get reborn but my search has been futile.

“I didn't find an article that has anything in rebirth and I wondered if people didn't believe it at all.

“But I really need help on this,” I mumbled, pulling my hair in frustration, but a voice from behind jolted me out of my thoughts and I almost had a heart attack.

“Some strange circumstances after a rebirth? What's that?” I heard Selina mumble behind me and I cursed inwardly.

“Why don't you ever knock?” I yelled and I watched her jolted away in fear but I did not care as I closed my laptop to look at her.

I already knew what she wanted to ask me because the situation happened in my past life but the difference was that I was searching about who Darren was, not about rebirth.

“I am here to inform you that you are accompanying me to the mall..and that's Dad's order,” she says rushing out and I sighed at her excesses.

I accompanied Selina out to the mall but she was being a brat and I decided to let her get embarrassed as I went along to another section which I was sure that I was going to run into Diana since she was a manager at the section but my steps halted when I saw my stepsister walking towards the rooftop and I sighed wondering what she was up with her so I followed her out.

I got to the rooftop and I was surprised to find her sitting on the railings of the rooftop and I was dumbfounded. What? Is she crazy?

“Are you trying to jump?” I asked, knowing she was trying to blackmail me into using my card just like she used to do, but this time her plan didn't work out and I only rushed to her when I saw her slipping off the railings.

“What are you doing, Sophia? Why are you not pulling me up?” she asked and I chuckled crazily. Why should I pull her up? Do I have that obligation to her? I pondered remembering all that she did to me when I was living in the house.

And I also wanted her to fear so I decided to tease her.

“You can let go of her hand, I will be sure there would be nothing like a murder case,” I heard a voice says behind me and that makes me almost let my grip loose on Selina but I was lucky and I quickly pulled her up and she sucked in air hurriedly why we both glared at the new intruder.

He was the same man that I ran into at the party yesterday, my supposed mate.

“What is it? Why are you following me? I thought I made myself clear enough last night,” I puffed out in anger looking at my stepsister who was catching her breath over her crazy attempts of committing suicide. She was really one crazy girl but not as crazy as the man in front of me.

“You look like you want her dead, should I kill her for you?” the man asked, glancing at Selina and she scurried in fear.

“What? Are you insane!” I mumbled looking at the man and I wondered what nonsense he was spurting.

“Why are you following me around?” I puffed in anger but the man just smiled. “That is because I want to make you the Devil's Luna,” he said and I stepped back in fear.

What is he saying?

“What did you mean by Devil's Luna? And why does it have to be?” I asked, looking at the man.

“Because you have the potential of being the devil's Luna and I am going to make you one if you prove yourself to me,” he breathed out and I looked around to be sure that the man wasn't mistaken.

What! Is he talking to me? Are there delusional people in the world now because the man in front of me looked like he had lost his mind?

“Why should I prove myself to you? Who are you for me to prove myself to!” I asked confused about the strange the man was but his next words sent me and my step sister shivering.

“I am Alpha Nicholas Hildago, the Alpha of the Starry Moon Pack, that people secretly refer to as the Devil Alpha,” he whispered the last part and my body turned rigid hearing what he just said.

Alpha Nicholas? The Devil Alpha? That definitely rings a bell and my eyes widened when I finally realized who he was.

He was someone that I shouldn't be in his view but what? He is my mate, is that not ridiculous?
