Chapter 9 Run Into a Wooer

Su Qin remained unaware of the events unfolding outside. It was only when Su Qin finished his shower, casually drying his hair, and strolled into the dormitory that he noticed something was amiss.

As he entered, he saw his three dorm mates staring at him intently, as if he were a strange creature.

This startled Su Qin, and he exclaimed, "What on earth are you all up to now?"

Li Yang and Xu Sitong immediately stood up and pulled Su Qin to the computer, pointing at a post on the campus forum, demanding, "Come clean, what's this?"

Su Qin looked bewildered. When he saw the photos, he thought to himself, "Isn't this me?"

After reading all the posts, Su Qin finally grasped the situation.

It turned out that the beautiful and heart-wrenching girl in the pictures was none other than the renowned school flower of Chang'an University, Lin Xi. It made sense why her name sounded so familiar when he heard it earlier.

At times, Su Qin couldn't help but marvel at his luck, which seemed to be as capricious as fate itself.

"Well, you guys, let me explain..." Su Qin said somewhat helplessly.

Xu Sitong said sternly, "Speak, and we'll listen. Is this another one of your relatives?"

Li Yang pounded his chest dramatically and declared, "Lin Xi is my goddess, and you've sullied her."

Su Qin was speechless.

How on earth did you manage to consider Lin Xi your goddess when you probably just heard her name this afternoon?

Chen Mingyuan was also curious about the situation.

Su Qin had no choice but to provide a detailed account of the events to his dorm mates. Otherwise, their insatiable curiosity would likely keep them awake all night.

After hearing the whole story, Xu Sitong, Li Yang, and Chen Mingyuan found it rather unbelievable and were utterly shocked by Su Qin's audacious actions.

However, Su Qin didn't mention his plan to invite Lin Xi to dinner that evening, lest his dorm mates insist on tagging along.

"Su Qin, you're in big trouble." Xu Sitong said, shaking his head in pity.

He never expected Su Qin to be so audacious, defeating the instructor one minute and then abducting the school's beauty the next. Wasn't this something only a freshman would dare to do?

"How was I supposed to know she was Lin Xi?" Su Qin sighed in exasperation.

Li Yang continued, "You've now offended every male student in the school. Lin Xi has so many admirers; they could stretch from one end of the campus to the other. Watch out when you step out at night; you might get hit by a brick."

Su Qin wearily waved his hand and said, "Whatever!"

Military training was scheduled for two days later. During these two days, there were no significant classes; instead, students were getting acclimated to campus life.

In the morning, the new instructor arranged elections for class committee positions. Since Su Qin wasn't present when the new instructor arrived last night, she asked Su Qin to introduce himself separately.

In truth, Su Qin no longer needed introductions because everyone had witnessed his antics the previous night.

The new instructor, Liu Sha, was a teacher in her thirties who had guided two previous batches of students. She appeared much more approachable than the instructor from the previous night.

In the end, Li Yang successfully campaigned for the position of academic affairs committee member. The class monitor was a well-off young man, although not particularly good-looking, and Su Qin couldn't recall the names of the other class committee members.

In the afternoon, Xu Sitong, Li Yang, and others brought Su Qin to the school's plaza. During these days, the student union and various school clubs were recruiting new members.

This place was already bustling with activity, with no shortage of beautiful female students.

Especially the dance club and the school etiquette team, they were full of beautiful girls.

Su Qin and Xu Sitong had come here with this purpose, while Li Yang and Chen Mingyuan were genuinely interested in joining the student council and various clubs.

After a few rounds, Li Yang and Chen Mingyuan not only signed up for the student council but also discussed which club to join.

In the evening, Su Qin called Lin Xi, and they discussed where to have dinner. Lin Xi didn't want to go too far and recommended a nearby Sichuan restaurant known for its delicious food.

It was not only delicious but also reasonably priced.

Initially, Su Qin had suggested waiting for Lin Xi at the school gate, but Lin Xi proposed meeting directly at the Sichuan restaurant.

At first, Su Qin didn't quite understand, but then he realized what was going on. It seemed that Lin Xi had already heard about last night's incident on the school forum, and she wanted to avoid any suspicion.

When Su Qin arrived at the Sichuan restaurant, he noticed that many men were discreetly glancing in a certain corner.

Subconsciously, he also looked in that direction and realized that Lin Xi was already seated there.

No wonder.

Su Qin smiled, waved to Lin Xi, and quickly walked over. Other men couldn't help but feel envious and jealous, thinking to themselves why they weren't as fortunate as Su Qin.

Today, Lin Xi looked as beautiful as ever. She was wearing a light pink floral dress with a waistband, which accentuated her innocent and lovely appearance.

After Su Qin sat down, he stared at Lin Xi without reservation, making her blush and lower her head in embarrassment.

"Is your foot feeling better?" Su Qin stopped teasing Lin Xi and asked with a smile.

Lin Xi heaved a sigh of relief, picked up her teacup, and took a sip before replying, "It's much better now. You don't need to worry too much."

"Let's order some food. Feel free to choose whatever you like." Su Qin handed the menu to Lin Xi and spoke.

Lin Xi casually ordered a few vegetarian dishes and didn't opt for any expensive dishes. It was evident that she was trying to save money for Su Qin, considering that not all university students came from well-off families.

This gesture touched Su Qin, and his favorable impression of Lin Xi increased. He took the initiative to order two meat dishes.

As they were chatting and eating, a male student from Chang'an University came out of a private dining room and noticed them. After confirming their identities, he cast a suspicious glance and rushed back into the room.

Before long, four tall and burly male students from Chang'an University burst out of the private room. They appeared flushed, as if they had been drinking heavily, and headed toward Lin Xi and Su Qin with an intimidating demeanor.

Leading the group was Zhou Song, the vice-captain of Chang'an University's varsity basketball team, and the others were also members of the team.

Many students at Chang'an University were aware of Zhou Song's pursuit of Lin Xi, but he had not been successful.

Little did they know that they would encounter Lin Xi here today, having dinner with other students. Most importantly, one of the team members had recognized the boy as the person who had held Lin Xi last night and raced around the campus.

Could Zhou Song tolerate this?

Su Qin and Lin Xi were still unaware of the situation as they were surrounded. Other people in the restaurant also gathered around to see what was happening.

Zhou Song looked at Lin Xi with a sneer and said, "Lin Xi, didn't you say you wouldn't date anyone during university? So, who is he? Your new boyfriend? You both seemed to have a great time on campus last night, huh?"

Lin Xi didn't expect to encounter Zhou Song here and wore a visibly uncomfortable expression upon hearing his words.

Su Qin had already realized what was happening. It turned out to be Lin Xi's suitor.

Before Lin Xi could respond, Su Qin stood up and replied, "Is there a problem? If not, please don't disturb our meal."

Zhou Song, already in a bad mood and slightly intoxicated, cursed, "I am talking to Lin Xi. Who the hell are you? If you don't want to get beaten up, sit down quietly."

Hearing these words, Lin Xi's face turned pale. She was worried that Su Qin might end up getting hurt if a fight broke out between him and Zhou Song.

"Su Qin, let's go," Lin Xi stood up and took the initiative to grasp Su Qin's arm, ready to depart.

This further enraged Zhou Song.

Su Qin protected Lin Xi behind him and used a reassuring glance to convey that everything would be fine. Then, he turned to gaze firmly at Zhou Song and bluntly stated, "Back off, don't be a nuisance."

This time, Zhou Song couldn't hold back any longer.

Without uttering another word, he threw a punch directly at Su Qin's face.
