Chapter 8 Familiar

In the emergency room of the school hospital, Lin Xi, who was spraying medicine on her ankle, never anticipated that tonight she would go through the craziest moment of her life.

She is a sophomore at Chang'an University Law School. Today, she went to deliver something to her professor, but as she was leaving, she was accidentally bumped into by someone.

"It's nothing serious, just spray the medicine a few times, walk less, and you'll be fine. Go back and rest," the female school nurse reassured her as she got up.

After thanking the doctor, Lin Xi took her medicine and left the emergency department.

Su Qin saw Lin Xi coming out and quickly approached, asking, "What did the doctor say? Is it serious?"

"The doctor said it's nothing, just a twisted ankle. A few sprays of medicine will do the trick. You don't need to worry," Lin Xi replied, her gaze slightly avoiding his.

Su Qin felt somewhat relieved upon hearing this. Thankfully, it wasn't a severe injury.

"I'll escort you back to your dormitory to rest, and tomorrow night, I'll treat you to dinner as an apology." Su Qin earnestly suggested.

Lin Xi knew that the male student before her was genuinely concerned, but she felt her injury wasn't significant enough to warrant such trouble.

"You really don't have to. The doctor said it's nothing, so you don't need to feel guilty," Lin Xi gently replied, her voice soothing.

However, Su Qin wasn't willing to give up. He persisted, "If you don't refuse, I'll bring things to see you every day and wait for your foot to recover. Please choose one."

Lin Xi couldn't help but smile wryly. In the end, she had to agree; otherwise, she was afraid Su Qin wouldn't let it go.

"I'm Su Qin, a freshman in the School of Economics and Management. What's your phone number so I can contact you tomorrow?" Su Qin introduced himself and inquired.

After some thought, Lin Xi responded, "I'm Lin Xi, a sophomore in the Law School."

"Lin Xi?" Su Qin felt the name was somewhat familiar but couldn't quite place it.

Lin Xi then provided her phone number, and Su Qin immediately dialed it.

Ultimately, Lin Xi didn't let Su Qin escort her back. She was concerned about being seen by her classmates, which might lead to unnecessary misunderstandings. She politely excused herself, claiming she had other matters to attend to, and departed.

After all the commotion, when Su Qin returned to dormitory 316, his roommates immediately surrounded him, eager to know how the university had handled the situation tonight.

Su Qin explained that everything had been resolved, with both parties apologizing and reconciling.

Li Yang and Chen Mingyuan mumbled, "Then why did they assign us a new instructor? Oh well, as long as everything's okay, we were worried you'd face some kind of disciplinary action."

Only Xu Sitong sensed that something wasn't right. Even if they didn't take action against Su Qin, there was no reason to assign them a new advisor. This implied that the incident tonight was the advisor's fault.

Xu Sitong gazed thoughtfully at Su Qin.

Su Qin brushed off the question casually and then turned serious as he looked at his roommates. "Guys, thanks for tonight. I'll treat you to dinner one of these days."

Xu Sitong had been the most helpful tonight and didn't think much of it. "It's a small matter. We're comrades for four years in university; if we don't help you, who will?"

Li Yang and Chen Mingyuan chuckled and claimed they hadn't been much help.

After discussing the matter, Xu Sitong and Li Yang suddenly pushed Su Qin onto the bed and stared at him with mischievous intentions.

"What are you guys doing?" Su Qin asked with a puzzled expression.

Li Yang sneered and said, "Su Qin, do you really have nothing to explain to us?"

"Explain what?" Su Qin replied in confusion. He genuinely didn't know what they were referring to.

Xu Sitong lit a cigarette and then spoke frankly, "Brother, who was that beautiful girl this afternoon? Is she really your girlfriend?"

So that's what this is about. Su Qin certainly couldn't tell them that the stunning beauty was the famous star Gu Ning. He was afraid they wouldn't be able to handle the shock.

But even if he did tell them, they might not believe it. Su Qin chuckled and said, "Oh, I was just joking. She's my distant cousin, and she came to visit me today."

Upon hearing this, Xu Sitong immediately hugged Su Qin's waist, grinning broadly. "Big brother, do you happen to need a cousin-in-law?"

"Get lost." Su Qin retorted with a smile as he pushed Xu Sitong away.

Xu Sitong wasn't giving up that easily. "Seriously, Su Qin, your buddy here is not too shabby, right? Ask your cousin if she has any beautiful friends. Your buddy's happiness could depend on you."

Su Qin adopted a slightly haughty tone. "Well, that depends on how you perform."

Xu Sitong chuckled and said, "I understand, I understand." He then handed Su Qin a box of high-quality tea leaf and said, "This is a token of my appreciation."

Su Qin quickly accepted the gesture and humorously responded, making Li Yang and Chen Mingyuan burst into laughter.

Li Yang didn't want to get involved in this matter. He wasn't as wealthy as Xu Sitong, and even if he were introduced to such a girlfriend, he couldn't afford it.

Chen Mingyuan, on the other hand, seemed to be taking the situation rather lightly. Perhaps he hadn't yet experienced the complexities of romantic relationships.

After exchanging a few more playful remarks, Su Qin picked up his toiletries and headed for the shower. He was covered in sweat from all the running.

His loud exclamation startled Li Yang and Chen Mingyuan.

Li Yang asked, "Come on, Lao Xu, can you stop startling us? What's going on now?"

"You two, come over here and take a look. The top post on the campus forum reveals that Lin Xi, the school's beauty, was forcefully hugged and sprinted around campus by a male student. The whole campus forum is in an uproar!" Xu Sitong hurriedly explained.

In the afternoon, Xu Sitong had already briefed Li Yang and Chen Mingyuan about the story of Lin Xi, the school's beauty. She was considered the most beautiful girl at Chang'an University, so who would dare to act so boldly?

Li Yang and Chen Mingyuan rushed over to see what was happening on the forum. However, as they watched, Chen Mingyuan suddenly felt that something was amiss and weakly commented, "Don't you guys find this guy somewhat familiar?"
