I Was A Human

Isabelle POV How amusing life could be. Just today, I came across what I’ve only read in books. Father had warned me to never go out at night, but I love the night view, the sky, the breeze, the stars, and all it could bring. I stood on the balcony of the huge building beside our house. The balcony has been my favorite spot since I was a child, other kids were scared of the building, but I’ve never for once gotten frightened by it. I love the view and the calm feeling it could give. Mother came to drag me from there several times but I kept coming back. I stood, as usual looking into the beautiful night sky, coupled with the blossoms breeze, I was sure to have a nice sleep after such a stressful day at school. I smiled to myself as the memory of the encounter I had with my crush at school lingered in my heart. I blushed the more. But all of that halted as the breeze suddenly stopped blowing. My breath seized, and just in the blink of an eye, a wolf transformed right in front of me. My eyes darted around, my heart increased at its beat rate, my head rolled in circles and I saw myself falling helplessly to the cold floor. I tried to scream but nothing came out of my mouth, My voice was gone. I tried communicating with my hands towards our house but it was effortless as he dashed rapidly towards me. “Edward should know I’m not a joke by now!” He muttered coldly calling my father’s name. My body heated up suddenly, power surged through my soul and I saw myself standing on my two legs. “Alpha Asher!!!” Father screamed in rage towards him. Seeing my father, feelings of relief overwhelmed me. “Father!!” I suddenly screamed as I rushed towards him. “Go home to your mother, I’m right behind you.” Father said to me but I was confused, what business could my father be having with such a creature? And those things I felt back then, getting my voice back and rapidly getting away from the wolf. Was it from Father? I couldn’t wrap my head around anything. “Edward, you know I’m leaving here with my mate!” He muttered jolting me up from my thoughts. “Is this a joke or am I dreaming?!” “Father, what’s going on here!!” I screamed at the top of my lungs and my father flinched. “It's nothing, my dear, go home now,” Father muttered this time with his voice shaking. “Edward. I let you have everything! You can have every other thing! but not keeping mate!!” He screamed aggressively dashing toward me. “She is not your mate! She is human and has nothing to do with wolf!” This got to me, from every understanding, that the wolf was maybe referring to me. I called out to my father. But he has tears in his eyes now. I watched my father in awe, as I noticed the wolf brought out somewhat like a magical sword I’ve read about and watched in movies. My eyes never leave him as his mouth goes up and down muttering words. My father’s cries intensified, and he went on his knees, with his hands clamped together and his gaze on the floor, but the wolf never seemed to care as he went with the magical sword. Before I could remove my gaze back to Father, the sword had pierced through his heart. He let out a scream as he fell helplessly to the floor. “Father!!”. I screamed helplessly, tears surged out rapidly from my eyes. I swiftly moved to where my father lay. “He’s not dead, do not panic.” The wolf muttered. I looked back at him with a bloodshot eyes. If only I could slit his throat these minutes. “How dare you!!” I yelled as I dashed rapidly towards him. “Wake him back now!!” I ordered with my heart boiling with every second that passed. “I said...” I couldn’t complete my word as I heard murmurs from Father, I rushed back swiftly kneeling beside him. Father creeks and whispered in pain, followed by a heavy scream My eyes swelled in tears as I watched my father struggle in pain. “Father.” It came out of my mouth in painful whispers. How strange!! I jumped abruptly from my father as his fingers grew from an ordinary human finger to a huge giant claw. My mouth opened wide and my body shooked in panic, his body slowly got covered in wolf furs “Father!!” I screamed in anguish. “What have you done!!” With hot air evaporating from my breath, I held the wolf strongly at his neck. “What have you done!!” I yelled at him, but then I got fully amused when he smiled instead. My head heated up in anguish I could strangle him. “Change him back now!!” “He can do that himself.” “What nonsense are you spewing now? I’m calling the police on you!” I yelled to scare him but he burst out laughing. “I haven’t done anything to your father.” He muttered, and just like that, he was gone. I searched vigorously but he was nowhere. My heart rate increased, “Father.” Pain is written all over my forehead. I slumped to the cold floor. My Father sat there in Wolf form, sulking and streams of tears dripping from his eyes. Slowly, My eyes opened wide, and there my father whom I so much love sat as a human. Tears of joy escaped my eyes, I cried heartily as I hugged my Father. “I thought I lost you.” “I’m sorry Isabelle, this will never happen again.” “Father who was that?? I mean what was that?! And why did he keep saying you were with his mate??” “Isabelle, Today, never happens, forget about everything that happens today and it will never happen again.” “Father!! How’s that even possible!” I screamed at the top of my lungs. “let’s go, your mother must be waiting.” He muttered and vigorously dragged me along.
