Not long after, the students were ordered to enter the containment space for the monsters in groups of five. They were urged to work as a team to work as a team, however, a lot of them seemed reluctant to do so, making it hard for them to work and hunt down the creatures.
In the first place, to sense the creatures, they could have just used their natural enhanced senses. The Madi can hide their physical presence, but things such as smell and sound can be detected. However, everyone was too on-edge and scared. This was their first time ever coming in contact with monsters. Ever since they were little, their parents would always educate them on the dangers of monsters and what they were capable of.
Hakim wasn't amongst the first students to go ahead and start the training with the first group of five students. Instead, he remained standing amongst the other students, watching how the first batch of students were faring against the monsters.
"How pathetic," he heard a voice from beside him. Turning his head, his eyes fell upon a green-haired girl with blue eyes. It took only a few seconds, but he was able to recognize her. She is Ammie Kross, the daughter of one of the most prestigious families in town. She had always been quite obnoxious since she was young. He had nothing but bad memories about her from when he was young.
'Not her again,' he thought to himself. At this academy, he would try his best to avoid her as much as possible. For as long as he could remember, Ammie was nothing but a troublesome Vampire. She may be quite talented with learning her powers even from a young age, that doesn't change the fact that she had a wicked heart. She had done things that he couldn't even begin to remember.
As the students stood in the containment area, their concentration was all over the place. Amongst them, a few were simply trying to complete the test, but, others were doing the complete opposite. They were heavily scared of monsters. The fact that this was just a stage one didn't help to alleviate that fact.
Not long after they had entered, a student yelled out in pain. He could feel a sharp claw scratch his back, drawing out blood in the process, causing him to roll on the floor. Seeing this, the other four weren't expecting the Madi to strike them as well not long after. Now, every single one of them had been poisoned.
"How disappointing," one of the instructors said under her breath, before walking over to retrieve the students before anything too serious happened to them. These bunch had influential parents, and the academy didn't want to offend anyone too powerful in the social hierarchy.
Using her power, she was easily able to scare away the Madi with just her presence, before picking up the fallen students and taking them out of the area. The other students looked on in horror as their fellow first years had easily been knocked out by creatures that none of them could see. Moreover, it would be their turn soon enough.
"These students are just pathetic," Ammie said to herself, shaking her head while chuckling. Hearing this, the other students turned their head to face her, a bunch of them weren't happy with her words. Who does she think she is? Just because she is from a nice family, what right does that give her to look down on them?
"Shut up, you b***h! You think that because you're strong that you can look down on us?! If we all fight against you at once, then you won't stand a chance!" A boy yelled, slamming his fist into the palm of his hand.
The instructors present, hearing this, were more interested in seeing what would happen next than stopping a fight from breaking out. Anyhow, the students would need to grow stronger as per the requirements of the academy, so this could also serve as a means to that happening. Competition between students would be a good way to encourage them to grow more powerful.
"You dare insult me?! If you guys think that you can take me on, then go ahead!" She yelled, her eyes glowing bright red. In her hands, a red aura began to form, as she had created an item in her hands with her power. It was a sword, and with it, she planned to show her classmates who was the strongest today.
At that moment, everyone had charged towards her. Those who knew how to use their powers better, had activated them, charging attacks at her. Meanwhile, Hakim ensured that he stayed well away from the fight, standing to the side. He was currently witnessing his nemesis beating the crap out of every single student. She may be arrogant, but that doesn't mean that she's not strong.
Not long after, and everyone had been dealt with like it was nothing, and Ammie hadn't even broken a sweat from the fight. She had just proven the point she had made earlier.
"Impressive. However, now we can't continue with today's class now that everyone is knocked out," the female instructor said to herself. Then, her gaze shifted towards the Madi habitat, then back at the green-haired girl. "I guess we could've ended up with the same result. At least this method makes it easy for me to take care of the students."
And with that, this class was about to come to an end. But, there were still two students left who hadn't taken part in the test. Looking at each other, Ammie looked away, snobbing him while Hakim did the same. If the instructor goes ahead and makes them both take the test together, then they would definitely fail.
"You two will take the test together," she said, ordering them both to get into the habitat. The both of them had their eyes wide in shock upon hearing this. They wanted to refuse her orders, but knew the consequences of going against the superiors. They had no choice but to head into the area and try hunting down the illusive Madi.
Hakim was trying his best to concentrate. Ammie, as well. They were both trying to focus more on the test than anything else. It wasn't long until Ammie had tracked down the Madi. They were slowly making their way back to the area they were in after the instructor had scared them off, not wanting to make their presence too obvious to the people.
Channeling her aura, she fired it out at one of the creatures while it was still in camouflage. The attack had hit its mark, causing the creature to scream out in pain, and the other to scatter, running in all sorts of directions. Of course, their feet movements could be heard by the both of them.
Hakim suddenly turned his head in a certain direction, and channeling his own aura, he had fired it out, hitting another one of the Madi as well. Upon realizing this, he was surprised, and excited that he had hit his mark. Now, it seemed as though there were only three of them left.
Before he could fire out another attack, one of them had suddenly blitzed towards him, biting him on the wrist, injecting him with its poison. Hakim yelled out in pain, grasping his bitten wrist tightly, his eyes squinted shut.
"Awwn, did you get bitten? Sowey," she said to him mockingly. Laughing to herself, she had shot out her aura in three different directions, hitting the remaining Madi on their heads, forcing them to reveal themselves as they screamed out in pain, wriggling uncontrollably on the ground.
These creatures were blue in color with yellow patches all across their bodies. They had razor sharp teeth and were as large as traveling bags.
Although they may not have been quite big, their speed and venom, plus their ability to camouflage themselves, are what make them truly dangerous to the weak and inexperienced.
Ammie had passed the test, however, the same couldn't be said for Hakim, as he laid on the ground, groaning in pain. In the midst of the pain, he heard a dinging sound. However, he couldn't pay much attention to that for now, as all he needed right now was medical attention.
The female instructor rolled her eyes before heading into the enclosure to help take him to the infirmary to receive medical attention along with the other students. She was thinking that because they were the last two standing, that they would both pass the test without getting bitten, but it looked like she was wrong.
Ammie flipped her hair in the air, smiling to herself proudly as she walked back to the dormitories. Classes for today were over earlier than expected since most of the students were currently at the infermary receiving treatment. And she had managed to pass all the classes today with ease.
