Magic Awakening

Once breakfast was over, everyone got up and headed towards the next class for the day. Next, they were having abilities class, where they would have to choose an ability and would then be taught for the next three years on how to evolve it and use it properly.

People who hadn't attended the academy do not have abilities. All they can do in the outside world are the powers that come to them naturally from being what they are. For instance, while vampires are able to control blood and produce blood aura, Werewolves are able to control and utilize an energy called qi, and also have a plethora of other skills that make them quite dangerous and formidable.

Today, everyone in the first year would be going through something that those before had gone through. Today was the day that they were granted the gift of magic, and it is what will allow them to become truly great in the future. Hakim couldn't wait to receive magic as he stood in line along with the other students.

Magic was the power of this world. Renowned researchers like Sakiel Gin have spent their lifetimes researching the enigma. Today, a lot is known about magic, yet there is still much left to be discovered. Magic has a multitude of uses, and he was eager to use it to grow his strength.

In the town where he came from, there were people who had gone through the academy. However, using their magic power, they rained terror on the innocent civilians, k********g innocent children in exchange for ransom in return. Kyle was afraid that one day, one of his family members might fall victim to it, so he wanted to be strong enough in case something like that happens in the future and his brother isn't around to protect them.

To grant someone the power of magic, a wizard or mage who is well versed in the art of magic must pass on some of his magic power onto you, then it is all up to the student to grow this power within himself and make it his own.

Finally, it was his turn to be granted a bit of magic. As the wizard held his hand, he could feel a foreign energy entering his body, but he chose not to fight it, even though the man had a strong grip around his wrist.

[A foreign energy has been detected!]

[Would you like to accept it?]

Thinking of what he wanted, a few other notifications had appeared.

[Host has obtained Magic]

[Magic Power: 10/10]

Once everyone had been given a bit of magic power, it was now time to head on to the next part of the class for the day. The instructors then went on to explain what they would be trying to do for the remainder of the period.

"Alright, students! Now that you all have been given magic, we will be teaching you how to draw out your magic power. This lesson will go on for the next week. If anyone is unable to keep up with the classes, then this academy just isn't for you. Your magic power will be taken back and you will be allowed to spend the rest of your life howeyway you wish or you may choose to join another academy Whatever suits your tastes. No one is trying to force you into anything."

He then went on to perform a series of movements with his hands, before a how could be seen surrounding them, then shooting them forward, a blast of green energy shot out, hitting the wall behind the students and causing a small explosion in the process.

"To draw out your magic power, you just concentrate hard. Dig deep into your very being and draw out the power within. Although it may not be much now, once you learn to do this, we will teach you how to grow your magic power."

Hearing what the instructor had said, the students looked at each other, before trying to do what he had explained. They tried concentrating the best they could, but it seemed like none of them could draw out the magic power from within.

[Magic power activated]

From the tip of his finger, a dinner glow could be seen, before it quickly covered the tip of his index, shooting out a line of red aura into the air. Everyone turned to see that someone had indeed learnt to do what the instructor had said, and even the instructor looked surprised by this.

"How did he do that?! Didn't we all receive magic at the same time?!"

"Could it be that he has had magic for a while now? How could that be?!"

"What if this guy just has more potential than all of us?!"

Everything was talking frantically after seeing what this one student had done. A lot of them were jealous that he had done what most of them couldn't even begin to do. His actions had even caught the attention of the instructors.

Of course, Kyle didn't mean to put on such a show in the first place. He didn't even know that the system would activate his magic while he was thinking about it. He had done what he had done by accident, and now, he would have to deal with the jealous gazes from his peers. He knew he had already made himself a target after this.

For the rest of the class, Kyle made sure that he didn't think too much about magic, else he might end up doing something more than that. After seeing him use magic, Carter and Jake were more interested in hanging over with him than they were before.

Of course, in this world, everyone wished to associate with the strong. This was the beginning of the first year students' journey towards power. And in this world, that was all that mattered. Later on, everyone's magic had been awakened. Hakim couldn't stop thinking about the quest he had received.

He would have to stay safe in this academy for the first week, and he would receive a new skill in return. During his time in this world, he had read a lot about demons and the skills they could possess. He had always been interested in power as a child, and now, he had a chance to experience what it felt like himself.

Once the magic awakening was over, the students were ordered to head towards the next class for the day, which was combat class. Just because they had the potential to learn magic, doesn't mean that they wouldn't have to learn forms of hand to hand combat. During the class, the instructors would go ahead to teach the students a fighting technique known as Aikido, a highly effective combat technique meant to disarm and pin down one's opponent.

Of course, a lot of students were having trouble learning the technique since they would usually believe that their natural power was enough. A lot of them never took the time to learn proper combat skills.

Although Hakim was also having trouble learning the Aikido technique known as the first teaching, he was determined to one day master it just like the instructors did during their time. Later on, it was time for the third class for the day. This one is called cave hunting.

During this class, the students would be placed in an environment where monsters were allowed to roam freely. Of course, this was somewhere around the academy, where the instructors would keep a close watch on the students to monitor their performance and to step in and assist them if things got too dangerous.

In this world, there were creatures which were labeled as monsters that roamed. As a means of helping the future generation grow, the academy had decided to capture said monsters from the outside world and keep them here to help the students train.

There were five stages of monsters, amongst different species-stage one, stage two, stage three, stage four, and lastly, stage five. There are various species of monsters that roamed this world, so much so that a lot of them have yet to be discovered by its inhabitants.

Hakim stood amongst the other students, getting ready for this part of the lesson. The area where the beasts were allowed to roam was rocky terrain, filled with large boulders and sharp rocks sticking out of the ground. Although no one could see any of the monsters in the area from where they stood, they knew that they were there.

The monster they would be going against today would be a stage one monster called a Madi. It is a creature that resembles a chameleon, being able to blend in with its surroundings at will. It would make it difficult for the students to see what they were fighting. Moreover, they were then informed by the instructors that these Madi monsters were highly venomous.
