She came running to my side and engulfed me in a tight embrace, sobbing. I wrapped my arms around my mother's waist and cried with her. She pulled away from the hug, looking me over. She ran her hands through my hair, making me wince a little. I could see the sad look in her eyes as she took in my rough sight. "I want to see her, mom" She nodded her head and gave me a small smile before turning her attention to the doctor. "Can he go and see her?" The doctor shook her head, telling me I couldn't see Amelia right now because I needed to rest. I snatched the iv from my arm and swung my legs over the edge of the bed. If she's not going to let me see her right now, then I'll get up and see her myself. I placed my feet on the bed, using the bed to hoist myself up into a standing position.
