Cold Bodies

This was worth it, she made it worth it, motivating him to stay tough and remember what he was fighting for. More importantly who he was trying to stay alive for. Before he was trying to stay alive for his family, to find them and get home to his little brother. But then he found her, now she was here with him. Looking back on it, when he first met her, he remembered how he felt. It was a strange feeling to say the least. He knew he couldn't trust anyone, but he was oddly captivated by her right from the beginning, even when it didn't seem like it. Every little thing she did, he payed attention. Soon he began to see what he saw in her. It had always been there but he'd purposefully turned a blind eye to it. He didn't know he'd been looking for her this whole time without even really knowing what he was looking for exactly. But he knew this is what he wanted, he just knew and he'd always known. He was also staying alive for her, they were a team, they stuck together no matter what. That's what she told him, even when she didn't know that much about him. Through all this time, traveling, surviving, they stuck together, they knew they had to. Even when she had the opportunity to leave, and live behind safe walls, she joined him on his little journey. He didn't want her leave anyways, Tom loved her. It took Tom a while to actually grow into the whole team part, he didn't want to be part of a team. That meant that it would only hurt more once the other person was gone. That's exactly what was happening right now, he knew he shouldn't have listened to her because now she might be gone forever.
